Author's Note: this scene takes place a little after last chapter, so the family of three has arrived at Tai Chen Palace. More gossip from our two favorite gossipmongers.

"Eh, Siming, you're here, too?" Liansong asked, yawning behind his fan.  They were sitting at a stone table in the main courtyard of Tai Chen Palace.  Zhonglin had just provided them with tea and offered apologies that Dijun was finishing a remedial lesson with Dihou and would be out shortly before departing to take care of Gungun. "Do you know why Donghua has commanded us here so early?"

Siming shook his head, also stifling a yawn.  "Today is the fifth day of the fifth month of the year, so Dijun will be naming and ranking the new Immortals.  Maybe he needs our assistance?"

"Why does he need our assistance? He has all the time in the world. Did you know my father is in deep depression because Donghua has declared he's not going to attend court until he's fully recovered, which won't be another 1000 years? My father is falling apart thinking of ruling without Donghua's guidance and ready to give up the throne to Yehua, except Yehua keeps traveling the world with Bai Qian.  If you ask me, I think Donghua also just wants to spend time with Fengjiu too.  What is it with the women of Qingqiu and the spell they have on the men in their lives? Can you believe Donghua who for four hundred thousand years was so upright with self discipline has become such a slave to love? It's truly sickening!"

Siming, who had been trying to respond to each of the Third Prince's questions but was interrupted each time when the Third Prince continued on with his monologue, sighed heavily with relief that he could finally respond with his favorite pastime: gossip.  "Well speaking of this...there was also another talk the day before yesterday which was well analyzed and a little unbelievable."

Siming paused.

Liansong looked at him.

Siming paused some more for dramatic effect.

The Third Prince tapped his fan at Siming's head. "What are you waiting for? Come out with it."

Siming rubbed his head. "Well it is said that Dijun will spare no expense to please his pampered beautiful little wife—"

"What's so unbelievable about that?" Liansong snapped his fan in disappointment.  "Everyone already knows that from the day they arrived at the gates of the Nine Heavens, when because Fengjiu had said her little feet were a little tired from their journey, Donghua carried her across the gates and all the way to Tai Chen Palace with no thought to decorum.  No fairy can stop talking about how romantic he is. It almost makes one want to throw up his morning tofu."

Siming gave an exasperated sigh. "You didn't let me finish.  As I was saying, it is said that Dijun will spare no expense to please his pampered beautiful little wife, but Dihou found another batch of marriage proposals for Dijun the other day, one of which was from Liu Ling, a general who served under Dijun in the War of Gods and Demons and had been in seclusion for the last 1000 years so she had just found out Dijun had gotten married.  Thinking he was no longer made of stone, Liu Ling requested to enter his harem, but before Dijun could even respond, Dihou became enraged with jealousy and actually challenged Liu Ling to a sword fight, and after 6 hours of fighting, Dihou destroyed all the lion statues in front of Liu Ling's residence and the general was forced to acknowledge defeat.   Dijun offered compensation for the statues, but now every fairy is too afraid to ask their family to send Dijun another proposal for fear of Dihou's jealous wrath!  You recall how she also once ruined Cang Yi's home as well.   They now call her the Wicked Wrecker of Outer Home Decor."

Lian Song shook his head.  "What kind of name is that...? Also, don't you think it's a little unbelievable that Fengjiu can defeat one of Donghua's 72 mighty generals when she is only 30,000 years old and has lost all of her cultivation due to her fight with Miao Luo?"

Siming scrunched his face at the questioning of his gossip.  "You don't believe it, right? I was also very surprised after hearing it. But before Dihou was married, she did have the honor of being the only disciple of Dijun, trained especially by him in sword fighting. She is truly unbelievable!"

Liansong tapped his fan on Siming's head again. "I don't believe it, because it's probably a ruse by Donghua to instill fear in all the fairies across the Eight Realms."

Siming suddenly made a face and looked pointedly behind the Third Prince but the Third Prince failed to see the warning as he was too busy tapping his fan on the table to punctuate his opinion on the matter. "As you said, he spares no expense to please his pampered beautiful little wife, and though he enjoys her being jealous, he can't bear to see her upset either and probably asked one of his trusted generals to pretend to be defeated.  It's really shameless how far he'll go to please her!"

"Oh? What shame is there in pleasing Xiaobai?" Donghua said coldly behind Liansong.

The Third Prince gave Siming a deathly stare for not warning him before turning around to face Donghua with a smile. "Erm...I was talking about a king in the mortal world.  You know how Siming and I love to talk about the trials and tribulations of mankind. Ahem, Donghua, why did you ask us to come so early?  You know I don't like to wake up before the crow hour."  He faked a yawn, then fanned himself to cool the beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

Donghua also yawned, raising his arms to stretch his body, which was clothed in a white gown.  However, dangling from his belt was a very noticeable bright red little fox tail.  There was no question of where the fox tail came from and also no question that Donghua was showing off his fox tail.

"Donghua, you are our Supreme God made out of stone and was once known to have no feelings and no desires

"Donghua, you are our Supreme God made out of stone and was once known to have no feelings and no desires...are you really wearing a red tail made just like Fengjiu's fur on your belt? Did you make us come here early just to show it off?  It's a little bit too—" The Third Prince snapped his fan shut in agitation and looked at Siming for assistance on finding the right word.  However, Siming refused to make eye contact and busied himself by pouring them all a cup of tea.

"You're mistaken." Donghua said languidly, finally sitting down after his display and sipping on the tea. "The fox tail isn't just like Xiaobai.  It is her.  Xiaobai made it from each of her nine tails and gave it to me so everyone can see at the naming of the Immortals and everywhere I go that I belong to her.  She's always so sensible."

Siming and Liansong exchanged a look at the smile on Donghua's face.  It was good that the Third Prince had not had any of his morning tofu yet, because he was overcome with nausea at how Donghua had surpassed him in romance.

I loved Ten Miles of Peach Blossom and was so sad about Donghua and Fengjiu's ending in that show so wanted to reimagine the little fox tail he wears there to fit in the Eternal Love of Dream world. Can we appreciate how handsome Vengo Gao is???

Hope you like this cute little chapter. Thanks for your votes and comments! ❤️
