Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor

Luckily, his mother let him go to the premiere. His uncle didn't stop berating Leo, but he muted the chat so it wouldn't distract him from actually important things.

Now, he watched as a bunch of cameras flashed and snapped pictures of Zachery in front of the backdrop. They were all queuing waiting for their own picture. Elise was in front of him, Amara behind him and Leo behind Amara.

'So you didn't talk to him at all?' Elise whispered.

'What can I say?' Aaron asked.

'You are a horrible person!' Elise reprimanded, 'you can't just ghost him like that...'

Her gaze trailed away from him and into the crowd of people who got tickets to attend the premiere event. She looked like she saw a ghost.

'What are you-'

She pointed into the crowd, 'is that your uncle?'

Aaron turned and looked at the direction she was pointing at, his heart dropped to his stomach. His uncle was there, behind the stanchions and velvet ropes. He was glaring straight at Leo, and he seemed to be hiding something in his coat.

'You don't think-' Elise started, but then was ushered to stand in front of the backdrop.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck-This could not be happening-

Someone shook him, it was Elise. She looked stern and determined.

'Kiss me,' she whispered.

'What?!'

Elise leaned in closer, 'kiss me! Then your uncle would stop worrying about Leo! He'd think you like me! You told him you were dating someone, right?'

'I can't make you-'

'Do you want Leo to die?!'

Aaron stared at her, his heart thumping so loud he was sure everyone could hear it.

The next few moments were forever engraved into his mind.

He remembered where everyone was standing—the cameramen and reporters to the left of them. The film crew standing off to the side. Amara and Leo behind him, Oscar and Zachery behind Elise. His uncle was in the crowd behind them. A bunch of fans and paparazzi trying to get close to them, but getting pushed away by security guards.

He remembered what everyone was wearing—Zachery was wearing a gray suit and red tie, his hair gelled and combed. Oscar was wearing a navy blue suit and a dotted tie. He himself was wearing a black Louis Vuitton suit and his late father's watch, Elise was wearing a floor length light blue gown, her earrings sparkling. Amara was wearing a dark green dress with a gold-plated necklace. Leo was wearing a patterned suit and a gold full ear cuff.
