If only I knew, what my heart was telling me

Don't know what I'm feeling, is this just a dream?

The two of them were in Aaron's changing room, their eyes awkwardly shifting between each other and the script they were both holding.

'Okay, so we have to kiss.' Leo finally broke the silence, 'have you ever kissed someone before?'

Aaron nodded. It wasn't a very serious kiss, he was 11, and the girl asked, so he did. They weren't really dating or anything like that. He didn't remember when they stopped hanging out.

'Have you?' Aaron asked.

Leo looked away and shook his head, embarrassed.

Oh.

Aaron realized and sat up straighter, 'shit, I'm sorry.'

'For what?'

'Y'know, stealing your first kiss. I'm sure you'd rather...y'know, with someone special.'

'It's fine. I'm not really that sentimental about all that.' Leo assured, 'and, it's just acting.'

Yeah, just acting, so...

'Should we like...practice?' Aaron muttered.

'Yeah, yeah, probably.' Leo agreed.

So the two of them stood up, went over the lines, and then...

Aaron forgot which one of them leaned in first, but he remembered the way Leo's eyes fluttered shut right before their lips touched, his cheeks red. It was soft, then Aaron leaned in a little more and he closed his eyes too. It was awkward but also somehow nice.

They pulled apart after staying like that for a while. Flustered, Leo buried his head in his hands while Aaron watched and laughed. Well, he laughed slightly then suddenly his head was spinning with...confusion? Content?

Because kissing Leo, that felt...good. Yes, it was awkward, but he didn't feel disgusted or embarrassed, and he wanted...to do it again. Which was surprising but he brushed it off as wanting to perfect the scene before the actual filming.

'Sorry,' Leo mumbled, 'that was...Bloody awkward, wasn't it?'

Aaron smiled, 'it was...a kiss, I guess.'

Leo groaned, 'this is embarrassing.'

'Maybe we should ask Elise and Zachery about it,' Aaron suggested, 'they've had to kiss before, it was probably awkward for them as well, right?'

'Yeah, yeah, you're right,' Leo nodded.

Elise and Zachery did give them some good advice, one of which was to just practice more. So they did, they spent at least an hour cooped up at the back of the changing room, kissing each other. Changing the angle of the kiss, maybe staring in the others' eyes for a while longer.
