I wanna ruin our friendship, we should be lovers instead

Elise is going to die.

She had invited Amara over to her place to hang out and stay the night. It had only been a day since Aaron moved out, and she was already feeling lonely, so she texted Amara and she had agreed.

It just so happened that Elise decided to finally do something about their "will they, won't they" situation. And of course she decided to do it through karaoke, she liked singing, she was good at it, she chose it thinking singing her feelings out would make it easier.

It didn't, it's only making her more nervous.

'Your turn,' Amara said, handing the mic back to her.

Elise cleared her throat and gave Amara what she hoped looked like a confident smile.

Jenny, darling, you're my best friend.

Alright, here she goes.

Elise gathered up enough courage and turned to look Amara in the eyes.

I'm using your shirt as a pillowcase

Okay, it-

I wanna ruin our friendship

Huh?

We should be lovers instead

Elise watched as Amara stood up from where she was sitting and moved to stand in front of her, taking the words (lyrics), right out of her mouth.

I don't know how to say this

Amara moved the microphone out the way, and leaned in, and-

'Cause you're really my dearest friend

The music became background noise as they both fell onto the couch, kissing and giggling and-

Suffice to say, they were no longer just "friends" fifteen minutes later.
