Destinee's P.O.V.
I couldn't be sure why but the following day in school I found myself looking for Colson, which was odd because I'd never done that before.
Sure, I'd seen him in the halls; he always smiles when I pass him but we've hardly said two words to one another and here I am looking for him. Why couldn't I get him out of my head?
I sighed heavily as I pushed the girls bathroom door open, the bell had just rung for lunch and I took the opportunity to fix my make-up.
I stood in front of the sink, trying my best to look into the mirror. I half smiled as I took in the reflection, my hair, which I usually wore down was a static mess. I quickly pulled my hair into a ponytail, fixed my eyeliner and applied a small amount of lip gloss before heading outside to get some fresh air.
Something about today was off....I could feel it. My usually upbeat self seemed down for some reason.
I scanned the school yard, in hopes of what? Seeing Colson?
Upon scanning the surrounding area I decided to stop looking for the moment, it was doing nothing but spoiling my mood.
"You look disappointed."
I jumped, turning to see Summer, a fellow classmate and acquaintance.
"I suppose I am....although I'm not sure why." I replied as I shifted my weight from one foot to the other.
Summer gave me a sympathetic smile before a friend of hers pulled her in the opposite direction.
With that I set off to find a cool place to sit for the remainder of the lunch hour.
The school day continues."Now class....."
After that I kind of tuned out for the rest of the period, then on autopilot for the rest of the day.
As the last bell rang and the students filled the halls I was relieved that the day had come to an end. All things considered I just wanted to go home. I slung my bag over my shoulder, made a quick stop at my locker and made my way to the entrance.
With any luck tomorrow would be a better and brighter day.
