Raven stared at the plate of meat in the middle of the table, it wasn't chicken or anything. Probably just pork. But Raven didn't eat meat.

"Oh honey! Help yourself to the meat! You can't just have salad and a roll!"
Mrs Inko fussed and raven frowned.

"Well actually I'm... I'm vegetarian! I'm sorry! I don't want to offend you guys or anything! I know I probably shouldn't be that picky..."
She said with a smile.
'Please don't be mad. Please don't be mad!'

'...fly away?'

"Oh! No of course not! I'm so sorry do you want me to take it away?!"
Inko asked, also scared that she offended her.

Midoriya dropped his fork with a piece of meat on it immediately.
"Yeah we don't have to eat it!"
He said throwing a napkin over his plate.

Raven giggled.
"No! That's alright! It's a personal choice! I don't really care... Well unless it's some type of bird or something... That is usually disturbing... But I mean you still can!"
She said taking a bite of her own food.

"You sure?"
Midoriya asked slowly removing the napkin.

"Of course!"
Raven laughed scarfing down her food.

"Alright sweetie."
Inko said with a smile.

After a few moments of silent eating and Midoriya complimenting his mother on her cooking, Mrs Inko decided to start asking questions.

"So... You said your name was Raven?"
She asked and the girl nodded.
"That's a very interesting name! What's your family name?"

"Mom..."
Izuku mumbled nervously. He glanced at Raven who just smiled.

"Oh! I don't actually use my family name!"
Raven said totally dodging answering the actual question.

"Oh... Well if you don't mind my asking, how did you end up... Well... In your situation?"
She asked and Midoriya flinched.

Raven's smile faltered slightly.
"Oh... Well if I'm being honest I... I ran away."
She admitted honestly.

"Oh!"
Mrs Inko exclaimed.

"Raven you don't have to talk about it if you don't want too!"
Midoriya said nervously.

"No it's alright, I don't mind talking about it a little bit. My family... Didn't like me very much, that's all. We didn't have much money and they didn't want me there anyway so... I left them."
She said.

Now Not all of that was true.
But they didn't need to know that. It was her story, she hadn't told anyone it but it was what she prepared in her head to tell people.

"Raven..."
Midoriya mumbled and she shrugged.

"It's not that big of a deal really! I didn't really want to be somewhere where people didn't want me! All of us were better off this way."
She said, still smiling.

"Alright dear... I suppose that makes sense."
Mrs Inko sighed.
"How about you stay here for a little bit? If you decide it's not for you, you can always change your mind."

Raven tilted her head.
"Really? I don't want to impose."

"No! You should! You definitely should!"
Midoriya jumped at the opportunity.

"Well... I know you guys don't have a guest room or anything so I wouldn't-"
She was quickly running out of excuses.

"You can sleep in my room!"
Midoriya offered and then blushed.

"Izuku!"
His mother scolded at his bluntness.

"I meant by yourself! I'll stay on the couch! It'll be fine."
He glare at his mother who looked at him with suspicion.

"What! No! Izuku I can't take you bed-"

He placed a hand on hers and she looked down at it, then back up at him quickly.
"Please Raven. Say yes."
He pleaded.

"Alright... Yes."
