Chapter 10

They kept on running even though both of them were completely out of breath. Woo Taek and Min Ha took cover behind a barrel. That's when Min Ha saw a metal pole near her. Why was there always random stuff everywhere in this universe? Even though Min Ha was baffled by the randomness of that world, she still took the metal pole to protect them. "Min Ha, are you okay?" Min Ha nodded and gave him a thumbs up.

Soo Chul who had followed them crouched beside Min Ha, asking both of them if they were okay. They heard a few gunshots and witness a student die in front of them. They then continued to run, as they felt like they were not safe there, and searched for a better shelter. They eventually found shelter inside a tent. Shit, it's the place where Woo Taek died. Min Ha started to look around when she noticed there was one purple shit coming toward them.

Min Ha pushed Woo Taek behind her. Before she could defend herself, the sphere's tentacles grabbed her ankle which made her fall. Min Ha was attacking the sphere with her metal pole but that little shit successfully avoid her attacks. Woo Taek tried to hold her as the sphere kept on dragging her closer. Soo Chul wanted to help but at that time, his body couldn't move at all. It felt like his feet were stuck there.

Then, a gunshot could be heard, and the sphere that had latched itself to Min Ha vanished through thin air. Min Ha turned to Woo Bin, the one who had killed the sphere. Woo Bin yelled for them to run. They ran from the shelter and now were heading to the main entrance. Woo Taek and Soo Chul were ahead of Min Ha. She was too exhausted, she couldn't feel her legs any longer. She looked at Woo Taek. At least she could keep him alive.

They were almost at the main entrance when they saw So Yeon and Jang Soo. Woo Taek and Soo Chul had arrived at the main entrance and were helping the others to barricade it. She noticed that somehow she was running behind So Yeon. Wait, since when she was behind So Yeon? No, it couldn't be. No! She didn't want to be the one that would be injured. She refused! But it was too late when she saw a sphere falling fast to them. She was then shoved by Jang Soo as the sphere crushed the entrance. Jang Soo checked up on any injuries on her.

Min Ha felt dizzy as she could feel the blood flowing out of her body. She checked the side of her stomach and there it was the large wound. Her all body felt numb, especially the injury on her stomach. Jang Soo noticed it and gently sat her up on the wall. It's funny how she felt sleepy after all the running she had done with her new injury. Well, since when she was not sleepy? She's always sleepy and no, it's not an illness. It was her habit. Sleeping anywhere and anytime she could. "Let's go inside the classroom!" Jang Soo shouted at others. He was about to carry Min Ha but she stopped him, saying that she was fine and still could walk on her own.

In Hye who saw Min Ha's injury quickly came to her side and helped her, reassuring Jang Soo that she could help Min Ha. Both of the girls walked toward their barracks and put on their protective gear. Woo Bin who walked to check on them noticed how Min Ha's white shirt had red splotches, especially on her stomach. "Private Cho Min Ha, are you okay?" That's when the other girl turned to Min Ha and gasped when they noticed the red splotches. Min Ha pointed at the wound and said, "Almost dead but yeah, I'm not okay. It hurt." Min Ha tried to give a smile but even smiling was too painful for her (okay, maybe that's a little dramatic).

"Can you walk?" Min Ha nodded and gave two thumbs up at Woo Bin. She could give him toes up too but well as you could see, she was severely wounded. "Everyone, let's go." Woo Bin walked out of the class and the girls followed him but not before asking if Min Ha really was okay which made her annoyed. "Yes, I'm dying. Just go already!" After that, they all finally stopped asking.

Min Ha held In Hye's hand all the way to the exit. She needed to make sure In Hye was with her as that was the only way to make her safe. She had done well in saving Young Hoon and Woo Taek's life and she would do the same with In Hye. She didn't want to lose one more person besides Ms. Park. They came to a stop when they were in front of the exit, waiting for Lieutenant Lee's next instructions. "There are two vehicles. Squad One, get in the car on the right, and Squad Two, get in the car on the left. Do not look behind and run as fast as you can, okay?" All of them nodded and were readying themselves to run.

"Stay with me, okay?" In Hye told Min Ha who was groaning as she felt a sudden excruciating pain surge through her body. She just wanted to lie down in bed. Min Ha was sure if someone laid her down, she would fall asleep instantly and maybe sleep for eternity, who knows. "Run!" That was the signal before In Hye ran toward the first car with Min Ha behind her. Min Ha felt pain in her whole body. It's become unbearable for her. She could feel her legs slowly losing its strengths. "Hurry and get in!" Soo Chul helped In Hye and Min Ha climbed the vehicle. Almost all of them climbed up except for Woo Bin, Soon Yi, and Jang Soo.

Min Ha heard shouts all around her, it made her dizzy and the pain in her stomach was not helping either. She stared at In Hye, she could see In Hye was talking to her but at that time, she couldn't hear anything. "Run fast!" That was the only sentence that she could hear clearly. She watched how everyone shouted for Woo Bin to join them but the car was already moving. She looked around the car. Only In Hye was with her. She couldn't find Young Hoon and Woo Taek which meant that they might be in the other car. She prayed with all that was left in her, hoping that they would be safe. She hoped to see them when they came to the camp later. If only by then, she would still be alive.
