All for One, One for All

Chapter 18

They were lining up in front of their base as they were divided into two teams. The raid team would be going to the penitentiary while the search team would go to the hospital, to restock their medicines and other supplies. Min Ha was again on the search team and besides, she needed to save Soo Chul this time.

They were all set up except they were searching for Ha Na who was probably faking sickness in their base. Min Ha sighed. She knew that today the other students from the other platoon would come to their base and tell the three good-for-nothings about the radio. But if Min Ha needed to choose, she would choose to save Soo Chul's life. His life was more important than a radio.

Deok Joong entered the building to search for Ha Na but after a few minutes, he came back with the same excuse. Yoo Jung shrugged it off and they started their journey to the hospital. Min Ha noticed how Chi Yeol kept on glancing at Na Ra and giggled when she saw him distraught. "Just confess, idiot." She told him while she covered her mouth, trying to stop herself from laughing out loud. "Easy for you to say. What if she rejected me?"

Min Ha almost burst out of laugh. "At least you try. You have not done it yet, you never know. What if she accepts you?" Chi Yeol became silent after that. Min Ha could see he was daydreaming and finally, she laughed as she couldn't hold it in anymore. Everyone looked at her and she just waved them off. Chi Yeol shoved her shoulder which made her fall and he quickly caught her. The journey to the hospital was filled with Min Ha's laughter and Chi Yeol's red face.

When they arrived at the hospital, they checked the sphere detector and nothing was on it. They split up and started to search for medicines and supplies. Min Ha was busy exploring the place. She walked aimlessly, looking for supplies when suddenly she bumped into Young Soo and Yeon Joo. She watched how there was a small smile appeared on Young Soo's face.

"Min Ha, here!" Min Ha heard So Yeon calling for her and pointed at the room she just found. Min Ha nodded before she turned to Young Soo and Yeon Joo, calling them. Both of her friends then followed her closely from behind. They arrived at the room and saw both Soon Yi and So Yeon were already there. Yeon Joo inspected all the medicines on the shelves as she happily hummed. Min Ha only giggled when she saw Yeon Joo like that.

"There's so much useful medicine here." Yeon Joo mumbled to herself. Min Ha could hear So Yeon complaining about how she was annoyed as she felt going to the pharmacy was completely worthless when all the supplies they needed were in that hospital the whole time. Yeon Joo then turned to them and excitedly told everyone that they should take everything to the base which everyone was happy to do so. Young Soo who saw So Yeon carrying a box quickly offered to help her which ended up with everyone putting their box on top of the boxes in his hand and resulting in him falling after that.

Min Ha just chuckled at the scene in front of her. She walked toward Young Soo and helped him carry two boxes. "Sorry, Min Ha." Young Soo apologized to her. "Don't mind." She happily replied after that.

After they had finished loading the boxes inside the truck, Min Ha searched for Soo Chul but she didn't see him anywhere. She had become anxious as time went by. She finally reached the place where Soo Chul would die but found no one there except for Chi Yeol's camcorder on the receptionist's desk. Oh, no. "Please don't tell me that I will be the one getting attacked." Min Ha mumbled to herself. She couldn't be in Soo Chul's place. She already injured herself too much and once, she almost die. She took the camcorder and positioned it to face her. She waved at the device before she readied herself with her gun.

Only God knew how she felt at that time. Could you imagine, being someone with poor shooting skills and would be the one getting attacked by three spheres, alone? Yeah, Min Ha could relate to that. She then heard a squishy sound coming from the window a few feet in front of her. The three spheres suddenly appeared and moved toward her. She quickly shot her gun while walking backward, trying to get as far away from the spheres. Lucky her, she somehow had successfully killed two of the three spheres but the last spheres went hiding inside the ceiling. She was busy inspecting the ceiling that she didn't notice that she had tripped over something. She fell and her head hit hard on the floor. The impact had made her slowly lose consciousness and she could only catch a glimpse of a purple thing coming toward her before she blacked out.

Min Ha slowly opened her eyes and the light made her eyes hurt so she closed it back. She sat up quickly but unfortunately, doing so made her feel dizzy. She opened her eyes again and looked around her. It was her bed. She was in the base. Did she survive the attack? Did she save Soo Chul's life? She didn't remember what happened and how she was in her bed but she could hear an argument from outside. She stood up from her bed and walked slowly toward the voices.

She saw everyone was arguing over something. Were they fighting over the rigged vote and the radio? It was already this scene?! How long did she unconscious? Gosh, she always missed the crucial part. She then saw Soo Chul, standing beside Il Ha with no wounds on his body. Oh yay! She did it. She saved Soo Chul. Woo Hoo! But Min Ha noticed that his face was filled with guilt. She thought that with Soo Chul alive, the future would be different but why it was still the same?

Soon Yi who had noticed her suddenly walked at her with an angry face. "Do you in it too?!" Min Ha was confused. She just awoke and someone already screamed at her? "I'm just awake for fuck's sake. I don't even know what you are all arguing about and now suddenly I was in it too?" Min Ha was glaring at Soon Yi. Well sure, she knew about the radio and the rigged vote but she knew it because she watched the drama, not because she conspired it with the others.

"How can we believe you when you are close to Yoo Jung?" Joon Hee interrupted which made Min Ha sigh. "She didn't know about this at all so stop accusing her." Jang Soo spoke out, defending Min Ha. So Yoon then suddenly said, "We saw it today. Humans are scarier than the spheres. You all are, the same as the criminals." All the perpetrators only stared at the ground and didn't dare to see everyone in the eyes.

"I've really thought about it hundreds of times. About the way, we all can be together. The platoon commander said that we have to protect each other. That's how we can survive until the end. But once you heard that CSAT was canceled I thought you would all scatter. So I wanted to keep using the CSAT. I'm sorry. I thought that we should stick together, even by taking severe measures. Guys, we need to survive, right?" Yoo Jung had cried, begging everyone to stay.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lie to you from the start." Jang Soo apologized but everyone just glared at him. He then turned toward Min Ha. She could see the regret on his face. She just wanted to comfort him at that time but her thought was interrupted by Na Ra. "You should have told us that in the first place. You should have discussed it with all of us. Now, it's too late." Na Ra walked away after that. The others followed Na Ra soon after and left Jang Soo, Yoo Jung, Il Ha, and Soo Chul behind with Min Ha.

Min Ha walked slowly toward them before she said, "It's going to be okay. Everyone was mad because of what you have done. They feel betrayed but over time, they will understand why you have done that. But, it would be much better if you have discuss it with others. We are not friends anymore, we are family, right?" With that being said, she left them and looked for Young Soo. She saw him, sitting against the wall, looking dejected by the news. She walked to him and sat beside him. She looked over at him and saw tears falling from his face. She hugged him, telling him that it was all going to be okay. He cried even harder as he hugged her back. Why did this need to happen?

Letter to myself,

I did save Soo Chul's life but it was still the same. The things that happened in the drama were happening right now. How can I save them? Do I even have the chance?
