Nigel had gone to a party with a lot of his friends to let loose after his bad breakup and all the stress from his job. They were having a lot of fun as the music blasted, people everywhere having a fun time, alcohol, whatever a party needed was there. As Nigel was talking to his friends about trying to get him a new girlfriend someone caught his eye. He saw a man enter one of the rooms that people weren't allowed in, maybe he lived here? Nigel caught a glimpse of his face and he looked.. pretty.
Nigel decided to see what the mysterious man was doing in that room. He was too curious to not check it out. He slowly sneaks inside and begins to look around, keeping an eye out for anyone following him. He eventually comes across the man he saw earlier, and he can't help but stare at his beauty. He is intrigued and wants to know more about this handsome man, but first, he has to make sure it's safe to approach him. He continues to observe from a distance and waits for the perfect opportunity to introduce himself.
As Nigel peaked inside he saw the man's room and it looked comfortable. He had a desk where he sat facing away from the door as he was working on something. He wore some headphones, bothered by the loud sounds. The room had a galaxy kind of vibe to it with some posters around and lots of books everywhere.
Nigel was intrigued by the man's room and his galaxy decor. He felt drawn to it as if he could relate to the man somehow. He slowly approached the desk and stood next to him, watching what he was working on. He was hoping to strike up a conversation without scaring or bothering the man, but he wasn't sure how. He decided to play it cool for now and wait to see if the man noticed he was even there.
The boy glanced to the side and saw part of Nigel standing there. He jumped a bit not expecting it and took off his headphones before looking up at him. Now that Nigel had a better look at him he looked so soft and cute. "H-Hello?" He stuttered, confused.
Nigel was shocked by the reaction and felt a bit of embarrassment for scaring the man. But he did look pretty cute, with his soft and worried face. It was a nice change from the stern and serious faces he was used to in his line of work. He wanted to break the ice so he decided to introduce himself, "Hey, I'm Nigel, nice to meet you."
He stuck his hand out for a handshake, wanting to show he was friendly. He gave a charming smile, hoping it didn't come off creepy.
He shook his hand and Nigel's hand was rough and made for working while the other man's hands were soft and delicate. "I'm Adam, nice to meet you too." Adam then smiles a bit, seeming calmer with Nigel now. "I'm guessing you're here for the party?"
"That's correct", Nigel replied. He was glad to see Adam was calmer now and that they finally had something to talk about. He didn't mind the difference in their hands, he liked the contrast and Adam's delicate touch.
"Are you having fun at the party?" He asked. He was curious, wanting to know what Adam thought of it. He was also interested in getting to know him better so he could determine if there was any potential for more. He needed to be careful though, he couldn't rush things.
"Oh, no.. My friend wanted to have a party and they asked to use my place for it. They promised to clean up afterward though. So I'm kinda just here. I've never been that fond of parties, they're too loud and obnoxious for me." Adam sighed as he stood up from his desk and moved to his bed. Adam still seemed a bit nervous around Nigel but he wasn't scared of him. Adam started to play with his hands as he was slowly becoming overstimulated by the loud noises outside the room.
Nigel listened to his reply and felt a bit of sympathy for him. He knew what it was like to be overstimulated, so he could relate to Adam well. He also understood not enjoying parties as much, he was more of a chill person that preferred the company of a few people in a more relaxed setting.
"Oh, I see. So your friends just wanted to use your place? That's kinda rude of them I must say" He paused, deciding not to speak too harshly in case he scared him. "Maybe we could go somewhere quieter where it's just us?"
"I'd like that.." Adam looked up at him with a small smile, very grateful for his offer. Adam got up and put on his shoes. Since it was quite late and dark out there was hardly anyone outside so it would be just them. "What place do you have in mind?" Adam asked as he stood up and faced Nigel.
"Well, I know this nice spot that's kinda near the city. A lot of nature and not too many people, I like to go there to relax" It was a place he would go to on occasion to escape the city life and feel more in touch with nature. It also helped him to feel more balanced.
He turned towards the door and got ready to walk away towards it, but then stopped to look back at Adam. If he was coming he wanted to make sure he followed him. He felt like this could be a good bonding experience for both of them.
"That sounds nice." Adam followed him out the door as they quickly left. He covered his ears as he followed Nigel out. It took them a while but they eventually got outside. "God, I hate how loud it is there." Adam sighed before he followed Nigel down the sidewalk.
Nigel was glad to get away from the loud sounds and the chaotic party. He felt a sense of peace when he saw the stars. They didn't care if you were good or bad. They just shined down upon everyone. And they looked so beautiful in the night sky.
When they were at the place where Nigel wanted to take him, he turned to Adam and pointed to it. "Look, it's beautiful, isn't it? I love it here because it's so quiet so I can reflect on how things have been going."
"It's beautiful.." Adam smiles as he looks up at the stars. He had an expression of pure joy that made Nigel's heart melt. Adam looked happy and it was because of Nigel. He turned his head to look at Nigel and he had a smile of pure happiness. "Thank you for this."
Nigel smiled as he saw Adam's appreciation, this made him feel happy inside. He loved seeing people happy, especially when he was the source of that emotion. When Adam thanked him, he felt a bit of affection for him grow inside of him.
"No, thank you for coming here with me" He smiled. "It's been so long since I've felt like this." It felt nice to have someone to talk to and get to know. It was an unexpected turn of events, but he wasn't going to complain about it.
"Felt what exactly?" Adam asked as they stood on a calm night. The moon shone down being the only light source other than the lamp posts littered around the trails Adam was looking at Nigel with his full attention and interest.
Nigel wasn't sure how to respond to that question. He didn't want to come off as cheesy or too mushy, but he also wanted to be honest with his answer. He had never felt this way before so it took him some time to figure out exactly how he felt.
After a brief pause, he finally decided to say "Felt that there was a possibility for something more..." He felt his face get a bit warmer as he looked down. It was clear what he was trying to say without saying it exactly.
Adam was speechless as he covered his mouth for a second before his hand fell back to his side. He was blushing as he stumbled over his words and couldn't form any words. He was so nervous and overjoyed by this feeling he never had felt in love.
Nigel was happy to see that Adam was just as nervous as he got. This was all very new for him but he felt a sense of security in the fact that they were in the same boat. He wanted to hold Adam's hand so he could reassure him, but he didn't want to take things too quickly.
So instead he decided to simply move his hand so that it was closer to Adam's hand. He made no effort to hold Adam's hand, but let Adam take the initiative to reach out for it if he wanted to. As Nigel's hand brushed Adam's he immediately shut up as he looked down at their hands. He looked away before slowly grabbing Nigel's hand.
Now that Adam had taken the initiative, Nigel took it as a green light and grabbed Adam's hand. He felt a warm sense of happiness as he did so. He felt like he had finally found someone he could truly be himself around. Someone who accepted him for who he was. And that someone was Adam.
This moment was beautiful to him, he felt like this was exactly whom he was looking for. Someone to truly care for him and make him feel loved. He felt like Adam had brought this energy into his world and it was so precious to him. He smiled at Adam as they held hands.
