"Can I touch your arm?" she asks in a soft tone still staring. I give her my arm and inhale through my nose deeply as she starts tracing my tattoos with her fingertip. Fuck.

"I love your tattoos," she smiles holding eye contact. I enjoy holding eye contact with people just to see them coil and cower in fear, but with her, it's like a warm challenge. The more we hold it, the stronger the urge to pin her against the wall and colour the fuck out of her neck.

"Your siblings are here; I'll go get them," she says letting go of my hand before heading off with Naomi. Part of me wishes she didnt let go. I sink back into my seat, casually scanning the room, until I spot a couple of framed photos of her.

In one, shes completely, her hair's all wet, and her clothes are clinging to her, drenched. The water understood the assignment... just saying.

In another, she's sulking with cake smeared all over her face. She's either the most adorable adult or the oldest child I've ever seen. Probably both.

I quickly snap a photo of both and nod at my siblings as they walk in. My little sister squeals running straight toward me. My other sister and I roll our eyes at each other, and Sasha and I dap each other silently.

"Why are you here?" Sasha frowns as he notices the bandage on my arm, it's more judgment than worry.

"Why not?" I ask, catching Cami with my uninjured hand as jumps into my hands.

"What happened this time?" Seina asks, sitting way too close for comfort.

"Your face happened,"

"Good thing then."

"I'm telling your mother ur secret."

"I dare you."

"Bet," I don't know where my phone is.

"Are y'all done?" Jordan calls from the kitchen, her voice loud enough to break the tension. I sigh, leaning back in my seat as Cami curls up into me. Jordan comes back with two small boxes and two bottles of water and without a word, she goes outside. She comes back all smiley and goes to the kitchen.

"Are you guys hungry?"

"Yes, I'm starving," Aslan answers, Vittoria nods. Cami doesn't speak, she's too busy hugging my ribs.

While she's cooking, Hala walks out from one of the rooms, dressed in blue scrubs, white Crocs, and carrying a black duffle bag. 500 bucks, she's packing heat under that. I glare at her since she started with me first, then roll my eyes as she looks away. Family friend, I guess. Could be my cousin...who knows?

"Hey," she greets my siblings and leaves for her friend.

"What are they doing here?"
