1pm. 1st day.

"Alright everyone, today's gonna be more like an evaluation, seeing where people strengths are, weaknesses, and who works well together where. If you could line up by positions, that would be great." Coach Hall said, after we did our cheer to start practice.

I went with the rest of the attack and waited until one of the coaches came over. The offensive coach, Coach Smith, came over and we did stick skills, weaves, shooting, etc.

The second half of practice was individual evals like 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, etc. I beat my defender almost every time because of my fast dodging and feet. I can shoot with anyone on me from anywhere so I felt pretty confident. We split up into half and we're told that these teams were going to be our teams for the rest of the year. I was on the blue team.

"That's all for practice today! You guys worked hard." Coach Hall said.

"Be in the training room at 3, we'll do physical evals with the training staff." Another coach said. We have 4 coached in total.

The rest of the day went a little something like this. Weight, lifting, running, stretching, and dinner.

6:30pm. Same day.

We're all in the dining hall, eating dinner. It was a really nice day, and the team is really fun and super excited to have me. Dylan is definitely my closest friend so far on the team, along with Lilly and Grace.

The hockey team walks in, and I immediately Make eye contact with Jack. I give him a little smile, and he smiles back at me.

I got up to go make myself a sandwich. I see out of the corner of my eye, that he's following me.

"How was your first day?" he asks, without even saying hi.

"It was good, I definitely keep up with them. practices are definitely intense though." I say, reaching for the chicken.

"No, yeah, for sure. we had a pretty tough practice today too." Jack said.

"How come?" I ask.

"the guys were fooling around on the ice. Coach didn't like it. Made us do sprints for 20 minutes. I'm so sore." He exhaled.

"Wow, that's awful." I say.

" I wanna introduce you to my buddy Trevor, he's cool." Jack says.

"was he with us yesterday? I must've missed him." I say, looking up at jack.

"No, he went to bed early. I'll introduce you to him tonight." he says. "I got to go, see you later. I'll text you." he says, one of his buddies dragging hime along.

I wave. I continue making my sandwich when Dylan comes up to me.

"You guys know each other? I noticed when you guys stayed behind after we left yesterday." Dylan says.

"Kinda." I say, " we met on the day of tryouts. He asked for my snap after I drove him home, it's kind of a long story."

"We'll tell me at the table." she pulls me by the arm and we sit. I tell her the whole story and she loves it.

"So he's 17 too?! That's sooo cute!" She says.

"Haha, well. Let's not get ahead of ourselves." I say.

9pm. Same day.

I'm laying on my bed scrolling on my phone when I got a text from jack.

I get up and go down the hallway, down the stairs, and across the common room. Luckily, no one is there to see me go across to the boys dorm. I then open the door to the boys dorm and run up the stairs to make sure I not seen. I don't want to have any reputation. I made it to the second floor and go down to room 286. I knock.

"Jack?" I say, knocking.

He opens the door. His room is a little bit bigger than mine. He has a big office chair that Trevor, I assume, it's sitting in. Trevor stands up.

" hey, I'm Trevor." He waves.

"Hey! I'm Sawyer." I say

"Yea, Jack's already told me." he laughs. Jack hits him in the stomach.

Everyone moves back into the room and I shut the door. Trevor sits back on the office chair and Jack is sitting on his bed. The only see the left is next to jack on his bed, so I sit. We talked for a while, Jack diffusing the tension between everyone making jokes here and there. We realize we were the only 17 year olds on the U18 teams.

I think of myself as a very funny person, and I think that they thought I was too. They laughed and almost every joke I made. Which is a good sign.

We ended the night by saying goodbyes, and I went back to my room and went to sleep.

Overall, I think it was a great first day, Trevor seems like a really fun guy, and I think the three of us are gonna be good friends.
