Chapter 12

Donnie's POV

I spent all night trying to make another pair of night vision goggles. I wasn't able to finish making them within the night, but I got a lot done.

The next morning I was still working on them. I was hard at work when something tapped my shoulder. It scared me so I jumped a bit.

"Donatello, what are you doing awake at five o'clock in the morning?" Splinter asked.

We still haven't exactly told him about the plan. That's why I had to come up with a lie.

"I woke up early and can't fall back asleep, so I thought I'd work on a project," I explained.

"What are you making?"

"They're um night-vision goggles."

He looked at me strangely. I knew he was going to question me about them.

"It's so we can play a new game that Mikey invented," I quickly came up with another lie.

"And how many pairs are you making?"

"Four," I said without thinking.

"Why will you need four?" Master Splinter asked.

Now I realized that I probably should've told him three.

"Well, I...um I'm making four just incase Casey will play too. Or incase we accidentally break a pair."

"Oh, good luck with that," Master Splinter said and left.

That was way too close. If it wasn't this early, I bet that he would've found out the truth.

At 7:00am, Raph woke up and called me to his room. He said he wanted to talk to me about the plan. I agreed to.

"What's up Raph?" I asked coming into the room.

"I was thinking," Raph explained. "I may have found a perfect date to free Leo, but I have to know when the goggles will be done."

"Well I'm not sure Raph, if I work on the second pair all day, they should get done by tonight," I said.

"Will they
be done within two weeks?" Raph asked.

"Yeah for sure," I said.

"How about in a week?"

"Possibly," I said. "When was the perfect date?"

"Well I was thinking. On Fridays Sensei always goes to bed at 8:30pm instead of 9:00pm. That would give us half an hour more to get ready," Raph explained.

"This Friday?" I asked.

My heart started to pump faster. That's only six day away!

"Well it's either this Friday or in thirteen days!" Raph explained.

"I don't know if they'll be ready in six days Raph," I said starting to panic a bit.

"Well if the second pair get finished tonight, then you should have the other ones finished by Monday," Raph explained.

I thought for a minute, then realized something.

"I can't finish them by Monday. If I were to, I'd have to stay up for two more nights in a row."

"Can you have them done by Wednesday then?" Raph asked hoping he wasn't pushing it.

I took a deep breath and said "I'll try, but I'm not promising anything," I said hoping I could.

Raph smiled. "Thanks," he said.

"No problem." I said and left.

I went back to the lab. Six days, I thought. That's not a lot time away. Well of corse for Leo it will be. I wonder how's he doing?

Leo's POV

I woke up from pain at 9:00am. I was tired, I couldn't have a rest without being waken from a nightmare or from pain. In fact, I haven't slept well ever since I got here. I guess it's because of the cement floor.

Today I'm getting feed. Or supposed to be anyways. If they don't forget.

I've almost been here for three weeks. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get out.

I haven't been thinking of a plan lately. I've been t busy thinking about my health that I completely forgot about it.

I'm still not completely sure how I'll escape, but I'll just have to find a way.

I was just sitting there when Karai came to the cell. I wonder what she has to say today.

"Hey Karai," I said.

"Not now Leo," she said as she was trying to open my cell.

I wasn't sure what she was doing until I saw the handcuffs. She as going to take me to Shredder.

"Isn't that Tiger Claws job?" I asked her as she struggled to unlock the lock.

"He's busy," she explained.

I wonder what he's busy with. Another missions of Shredders maybe.

Finally she unlocked.

"Turn around," she demanded.

"And if I don't?" I asked.

"Then I have a backup plan," she explained.

"What's your backup plan?" I asked seeing if she did have another plan.

"That doesn't matter just turn around," she said sounding more serious.

I stood there staring at the door. Sure it was closed, but it wasn't locked.

"Don't you even think about it," Karai said as if she read my mind.

I smiled wondering if I should try to escape.

Karai took out her tanto and started to walk towards me. I was going to be corned soon.

"Alright," I said finally turning around.

"Just what I thought," she said and put the handcuffs one me.

She led to Shredder.

"Good luck," she said as she walked away.

This time instead of explaining anything to me, Shredder got up with his blade out and walked towards me.

"Where is your lair?" Shredder said in a very loud and threatening voice.

"Find it yourself," I snapped back.

He scratched my arm with is blade. It stung but wasn't that bad compare to the other cuts.

"Where is your lair?" He yelled even louder.

"Ask someone else," I said.

He sliced my left leg, only a bit worse then the last one.

He asked me again.

I stayed silent.

This time he cut me deep on the right leg. I screamed. This was the worst that he ever hurt me.

"Take him away Karai," Shredder demanded.

Karai came. I couldn't stand up, so she had to help me up. I limped back to the cell. I was bleeding badly.

Karai took the handcuffs off of me, and locked the cell.

She stood on front of it.

"I'll get you some food," Karai said as if she was sorry for me.

I managed to thank her even thought I really shouldn't have.

Today was a rough morning. Hopefully it won't get any worst then it is now.
