Roy and Thea decided not to join us. They had their reasons. So, Chloe and I packed up and started our trip back to Central City. Lee's hideout is in a forest outside of Central City, but fortunately for us, we have been there quite a few times since Lee, Elena, and I got back from our long ass quest. So in other words, we know our way around the forest and to the Hill. And to double our fortune, once we got back, Lee had given both Chloe and I as well as Elena and Stephanie a key into the Hill. So the drive through the forest was easy enough.
Once we got close to the familiar mound, Chloe pressed the button and it took a second for it to open, but when it did, inside we saw Lee's motorcycle. We parked the car next to it and as soon as the mound closed back up, the platform made its descent.
As we lowered, we could see Lee at his computer with two people on his screen. From a distance, the only thing that I could tell about these two mystery people was that they were a man and a woman and both African American.
"What's going on?" Someone asked, probably the man.
"Nothing. I will call back once I find her and she is safe." Lee said with his voice modulator on.
Lee hit a button and the two people disappeared. He turned in his chair and raised an eyebrow at us as we got off the platform.
"Not that I don't enjoy seeing you two, but what the hell are you doing here?" Lee asked in his normal voice.
"It's good to see you too." I answered.
Lee lowered and shook his head.
"Look, Lee. We have a problem." Chloe started.
At that, our old friend looked up with a curious look.
"What happened?"
"Well, first of all. Roy and Thea Harper found us and they know I have the Mirakuru." I began.
"Ok, but I don't see how that is a problem."
"Well, they came over to talk, and I went to get the mail, but someone attacked me. It was weird."
"Weird how?"
"I was hit by a completely red car, and it disappeared. A man was flying above me in red and black armor. He had a weird red aura around him as well as a small red glow from his right hand. He was able to create things out of nowhere, made of the same weird red stuff."
Lee seemed to think this over a bit, trying to connect the dots to our strange encounter.
"Did this man say anything to you?"
"Yeah, he said a lot. He called himself a Red Lantern." Chloe said.
"Fuck!" Lee shouted.
"What?" Chloe and I asked together.
"Did he happen to have a symbol on his chest?"
"Yeah."
Lee turned in his seat and started messing with his computer. "Did it look something like this?" Lee asked as he pulled up a picture of the exact same symbol on Red's chest.
"Yeah, holy shit. How did you know?"
"Ok, so long story short, several, wait no, a little under two years ago, I helped my cousin find Batman. Well, when we did, we ended up meeting a man named Hal Jordan, and he was a Green Lantern." Lee quickly explained.
Several? Oh right. Our quest. For us it was years before we came back. For everyone else, it was an hour.
"Green Lantern?" Chloe asked.
"Basically, the Green Lantern Corps are space cops. The Guardians created the Green Lantern rings, which gives a Lantern their power, and the rings are powered by will." Lee explained.
