***Smut ahead. Beware***
It was happening.
It's not exactly what Jennie expected on this fine Friday afternoon. She'd shown her face at work for yet another meeting, all the while dodging the exaggerated looks from Momo. It's not that she didn't want to talk to her nosey friend who she hadn't had a full conversation with in awhile outside of work, Jennie just wasn't ready to answer why she'd been MIA lately. She made sure to sit as far away from Momo as possible so she couldn't bother her during their meeting; then she somehow made it out of the conference room before the other woman could even stand from her seat. Jennie booked it to her car just as her phone rang. Lisa's name flashed across the screen and Jennie could hardly contain her smile.
"And how is my favorite pretty girl doing today?" Jennie answered acting as if the two hadn't been texting all morning.
"Hey baby, guess what?"
"What?" Jennie smiled into her phone.
"The boss is on his way to Boston and gave me the rest of the day off. I'm heading home now."
"Lucky girl. I'm on my way back as well. You want some company?"
"Of course I do, but I want something else. Well, two things."
"Lay it on me." Jennie would do anything she wanted.
"Ok, the first thing I want is soup from Gina's."
"That's doable. And the second thing?"
"Hmm, I don't know if I should say it over the phone."
"You really have my attention now." Lisa had piqued her interest even more.
"Well, I was thinking that after we eat we can...do a little more."
"A little more?"
"Mmhmm, like after we eat the soup you can eat...me?"
Jennie almost crashed her car. "Oh shit!"
"Are you ok?"
"Uh, yeah baby I'm fine." She totally was not fine. Not by a long shot. "I'll be right there."
Lisa's tinkering laugh didn't help. "I can't wait. Be careful." She disconnected the call.
Now full of anxious nerves, Jennie drove the speed limit to Gina's. It was a vegan spot the two had found one afternoon when they were out together. While neither were vegan, the food was amazing. The crowned jewel was their butternut squash soup. It made Lisa's eyes roll back in her head every time she ate it. Jennie was a tad jealous because she wanted to be the one to do that, but she guessed she could lose to some of the best soup in town.
Jennie placed the order and took a seat to wait for it. It gave her time to try to get her heart rate under control.
The week had been particularly stressful for her with work, then Kai getting sick after swallowing a small piece of onion on Tuesday night. He got to it before she could pick it up and before long...well let's just say she paid the vet an expensive visit after hours. It wasn't as bad as what Love had done at Lisa's, but it was almost there. Lisa made sure to stop by the next day to check on the both of them. They cooked dinner together and shared a few deep kisses before Lisa dragged herself home. Now that yet another Friday was upon them, Jennie looked forward to spending it with her favorite girl.
