Taehyun's roar echoed through the halls. His army of pixies followed closely behind him, shooting her men with anesthetic darts, rendering them unconscious.

The man had always considered his curse to be a liability, but now he felt a surge of power when his lion form allowed him to fight with incredible strength and speed.

He quickly made his way through the maze-like corridors of the mansion with his senses heightened. He could hear the sounds of Lady M's men shouting and more were running towards him, their weapons at the ready. But Taehyun was ready for them. His claws slashing through the air, teeth bared in a fierce snarl. The men stumbled back in fear, eyes wide with terror.

He continued to battle his way through the mansion while detecting any signs of danger. Finally, after every corner was rummaged, he reached the basement where Lady M had imprisoned Beomgyu and Soobin.

As he burst into the room, he was met with a scene of horror– Beomgyu and Soobin were trapped in cages, bodies bruised and battered. Taehyun couldn't contain his anger so he charged towards Lady M and her men.

But as he approached, Beomgyu's voice rang out, calling his name in surprise.

"Taehyun! You have come to save us!" The fairy exclaimed with hope etched on their face, insensitive to the name they called upon had indeed, exposed Taehyun's secret.

"What did you just call him?" Lady M turned to Beomgyu, who clamped their mouth regretfully. Even so, she knew that she had the upper hand– such information could be utilized to her advantage.

"Oh Taehyun, Taehyun... Mr Kang Taehyun, if I'm not forgetful." She sneered. "What do you think will happen if I were to reveal to the world that you're a beast? That you have this... ugly curse?"

The lion backed off, with a panic attack at her words just by imagining its outcome, yet his concern for Beomgyu's safety was more important. Taehyun knew that he couldn't let anything happen to the fairy, no matter the cost.

Lady M held Beomgyu by their neck and a gun pointed at them, threatening to shoot the fairy. "I know you can understand me. You're not as tough as you thought, are you? Now, do as I say, or your little friend here will suffer."

Taehyun could only growl in frustration, unable to communicate his thoughts or feelings. But not Beomgyu, the fairy understood him just by a look so they spoke up, "Please, let him go. We will bring you to the Tree of Life as you want."

Lady M laughed wickedly. "You're in no position to make demands."

Taehyun's eyes blazed, full of resentment towards the woman, but he had to keep his emotions in check if he wanted to protect Beomgyu. Therefore he lay on the ground, submitting to Lady M's demands, hoping to prevent her from hurting his fairy. Lady M's men quickly subdued Taehyun.

"A lion? How interesting." She smirked from above before contemplating, "Not too bad to keep as a pet."

And so she ordered, "Take him to the other cage." The lion hissed when the man put chains on him.

His heart further sank watching Lady M's men locked him up behind the bars. He felt helpless, anger turning to despair as he realized that he had failed to rescue Beomgyu and other fairy. Maybe he should have listened to Yeonjun.

As he dropped his head with remorse, Taehyun closed his eyes and reminded his lion, in case his consciousness would slowly fade away–

You must remember Beomgyu. You must protect them.

But then, he heard a whisper. Taehyun raised his head to search for the source which was extremely close to him.

"It's me, Hueningkai," the voice said. "I'm going to get you out of here." The loyal pixie appeared before him, he had been hiding inside his mane all time since the men captured him.
