Gerald
"It's over Gerald"
Those were the words that followed the heart breaking scene I just witnessed.
It was my girlfriend's birthday and I wanted it to be special.
I had ordered the fanciest and most expensive jewelry for her and drove to her house very early in the morning like my life depended on it, even though I had a flight to catch in the next one hour.
The things we do for love.
With a bright smile etched on my face, I drove into the compound. I had bought her a well furnished apartment in an high brow area of ikoyi and a car.
I couldn't afford putting my baby's life at risk in the hands of crazy lagos drivers.
I parked my car and gently stepped out of the car with a flower bouquet in one hand and a gift box in the other.
"Oga Good morning o!" Sabinus, the gate man greeted like his life depended on it, almost alerting Amaka of my presence before I signaled him to keep his mouth shut.
"Oga wetin happen, you dey vex for me?" He asked with a worried look on his face with shoulders slugged down.
"I'm not angry Sabinus, I just don't want you to wake the neighbors, it's still early in the morning" I said rolling my eyes as a bright smile made it's way to his face instantly.
"Oh Oga you nor know say I be the security alarm clock for this estate, na me dey first wake up" He said grinning like his words made any sense.
"You could get arrested for that Sabinus, this is an estate and they're certain rules that need to be obeyed"
" Okay Oga,I don hear you. Madam amaka dey inside" He said smiling brightly and I knew what he wanted.
Tips.
I fished out some crisp naira notes from my wallet and handed it over to him as he thanked me profusely but I waved him off dismissively as I made my way into the house.
The door was not locked giving me access into the sitting room, the smile on my face turned upside down the moment I noticed the mess.
I was a sucker for neatness and Amaka knew this, I had tried to make her reasons a million times but she claimed she wasn't a fastidious person by nature.
Such flimsy excuse for being a dirty person.
I chuckled as I started picking up the clothes, throw pillows, remotes and batteries littered on the floor until my eyes caught something, I blinked twice to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me.
A packet of condoms?
I picked it up and realized it had been used. It's definitely not what I'm thinking, I'm probably just overthinking things. Amaka would never cheat on me, she loves me too much to hurt me.
Ignoring my thumping heart and the ringing in my ears I continued doing the chore until I saw a male singlet on the floor leading to her bedroom.
I picked it up, my nose scrunched up in disgust when I realized it smelt of moist, sweat and cheap perfume.
Who is this pig?
Throwing caution to the wind, I walked briskly towards amaka's room trying to calm my raging heart, just then I heard it.
The moans, screams, swear words and curses. My heart did double flip ups, it was probably not Amaka, maybe one of her numerous friends that loved to spend the weekends at her place.
I ignored the voice at the back of my head telling me to barge into the room and figure things out for myself but it would be wrong of me to interrupt the couple intimate moment.
I turned back making my way to the living room but my curiosity got the better part of me and I stormed Into the room swinging the door forcefully and then I met the most horrible scene of my life.
Amaka and osondu!
Osondu my driver?
The both of them hadn't noticed me yet, they were caught up in their world kissing fondling and giggling like two animals why I struggled to keep my anger in place.
It was so hard as my nails were literally digging into my palms drawing blood but I couldn't feel the pain, the sight in front of me was way worst than any physical pain.
I didn't know when tears streamed down my eyes, my biggest fear was staring me right in the face.
Just when I think I find the perfect one, they turn out to be the wolf in sheep clothing , ripping my heart apart way worse than the first.
I sincerely thought Amaka was the one, fuck! I even planned on proposing today before I left for my business meeting but unknown to me my so called girlfriend had other plans.
I clapped alerting them of my presence and they stilled, when their eyes met mine osundu flew to the other part of the room trying hard to cover his member as he searched around for his boxers.
Amaka on the other hand stayed rotted on the bed with her hands clamped together, gaping like a fish being let out of water.
Osundu tried to escape but I was faster than him as I banged the door with a loud thud and he flinched.
"Boss, biko I can explain!" He begged on his knees as the sweat on his forehead dripped down his hairy chest .
Explanation, I would actually need some right know because this doesn't honestly make sense to me.
"Explain, you really want to explain why you are in my girlfriend's house, in her room naked and sweating like an he goat, I fucking saw you two minutes ago remember!" I thundered as the scene replayed in my head.
Osundu pounding into my girlfriend, her nails digging into his bare skin, her eyes shut in ecstacy.
Shit!
Just when I thought I would actually hear something different, I heard the one word I had heard repeatedly these past years before I lunged at him.
"It was the devil sir"
