Over three hours into your drive, Connie began going over things to bring up and things to not bring up when talking to the Springer family."So what football team do you support?" Connie glanced at you from the corner of his eye before putting his focus back onto the road, "Actually- Never mind. Whatever you do, just don't bring up sports.. It's a touchy subject for my brothers."
It was the late hours of the evening, the dark sky losing sunlight, as you sat in the passenger seat of Connie's car - your seat pushed back as far as possible with your feet resting up.
You wore just an oversized-shirt paired with your comfiest Pyjama shorts, choosing comfort over fashion as you didn't plan on looking your best for a four hour car drive. Besides, Connie had let you know that his parents wouldn't be there for your arrival, as they had work-related priorities.
You Switched through different songs on the CD's in his car, the windows half undone as you could smell the aroma of the country fill the air. Unsurprisingly, the majority of albums in Connie's car were early 2000's pop-groups with cheesy song lyrics and corny titles.
"So then," You sighed tiredly, your eyes fluttering shut, "What's on the curriculum for today, hm?"
Connie pursed his lips together in thought.
"Well?"
"You wanna know something? I've never had any girls over at my place before." He gave you a sly look as he moved his hand from the shift, resting it against the edge of your thigh.
Your eyes rolled as you felt his fingers squeeze, "Such a liar."
Connie gave you a mischievous, yet innocent, laugh that you could never tire from, "Yeah, that's true.. I guess I have had a lot of girls over before." He kept his hand on your thigh for a few moments more, tracing patterns with his thumb, before securing it back onto the shift, "But, hey! You're the first girl to stay overnight; you're also the first that my mothers known about, and my brother has been excited to meet. So that's a first, huh?"
You signed through your nose with a faint smile, "Just focus on the road, Springer."

"Hey, look."
Connie gently tapped your shoulder blade to wake you up.
You tiredly opened your eyes after falling asleep in his car, rubbing your forehead with the palm of your hand. You yawned, able to see a large house in front of you as Connie began to park his car.
Connie's house was large, with polished red-bricks and trimmed ivy that trickled at the edges of his windows. The double-doors and bright-windows were a crisp white. The edges of the pretty houses's front-garden were covered in tropical flowers that would need constant tending - the floral perfumes filled your senses as you breathed in the warm air.
You heard him get out of his car as you leaned forward to peer out of the mirror; he balanced your bags on his left shoulder and forearm with ease, and his own bag on his right.
You swiftly pulled yourself out, "Hey, wait- I'll help you!"
Connie smiled warmly, using his elbow to close the trunk of his car, "Don't sweat it," He softly laughed, "Could you get my house keys out of my pocket?"
You nodded, stepping closer as you placed either one of your hands inside of the pockets of his joggers. You swallowed, your eyes locked onto his as you shuffled your fingertips: your cheeks ablaze. He smirked a little at your expression, before you felt the metal of his house keys on your fingers.
You wandered closer to the house, beginning to line up the key with the key-hole before watching the door swing open.
Before you had chance to realise what was happening, you felt a pair of arms instantly wrap around you, pulling you up from your feet.
"Oh, my lovely- It's so amazing to finally meet you, Y/N!"
The smell of lavender-perfume filled your nose as you saw blonde hair with silver streaks fill your vision. A woman held you closely, genuine excitement filling her voice. Her embrace was warm and tight: you were unable to escape as you held her back.
Connie opened his arms for a hug, "Hey, mom! It's nice to see you, too!"
You felt his mother loosen her embrace around you, resting her palms on your cheeks as she analysed your face, "Oh, my... you're even prettier than Con described you!" She completely ignored her son as she focused on you, "Come on, come on! I'll fix you a lovely hot drink - I've just put my homemade cookies in the oven, too! I bet you're both exhausted after that long drive.."
She wrapped her arm around your waist, guiding you inside as she left Connie with all of the bags.
You noticed Connie and his mother shared the same bronze eyes, and the same small nose; even their tall heights were similar. One of the only differences in their appearances were their smiles: Connie always had a sly smirk on his lips, whereas his mothers was more calm and sweet.
"I missed you too, ma'!" You heard Connie call out as he slowly followed you both into the kitchen, placing all of your bags along the ruby rug in the hallway, "I thought you had work tonight, anyway."
His mother whizzed around the kitchen excitedly, "I'm sorry, Connie.. I just wanted to be able to make sure Y/N got settled nicely."
You smiled comfortably, "Would you like some help with the tea?"
She clasped her hand over her chest, "Oh, you are sweet.. but I'm okay."
You questioned what the other girls Connie had had over were like: what they looked like, how they acted, and how many there were...
You felt your cheeks gain heat as you glanced down at your clothes, "I'm sorry, if I had known I would be meeting Connie's family today I would've dressed more appropriately."
"Oh, darling, you look gorgeous!"
Mrs. Springer's mother placed a tea cup infront of you as Connie finally sat himself down, his mother finally beginning to pay him notice as she gave his cheek a pinch. You could tell that Connie was exhausted from the four hour drive; his body was relaxed into his chair and his eyes slowly blinking. And that was when the question popped into your mind: where would you both be sleeping tonight?
You swallowed, admittedly a little nervous at the thought of sleeping so close to him.
You sipped from the sweet, hot beverage, "Hey, please may I use your bathroom?"
As Connie rose from his seat, he clasped his palm on your shoulder for balance - giving it a gentle squeeze before ruffling your hair playfully. You watched his mothers face soften into a smile as she saw you both walk off together to the rest room.
She sighed under his breath.
He used his palm to push a door open, "Do you want me to wait here for you?"
You smirked a little, "I think I can find my way back, Connie."
He cupped his hands on top of yours, stepping closer with a sarcastic and terrified expression, "If you get lost... follow the light." His soft voice lowered as he saluted you; he laughed cheerfully as you pushed him away.
