"Of course I do." Connie's eyes portrayed pure disbelief at the fact that you would even ask such a question to him: he almost appeared offended, "I.. like you more than anything, Y/N L/N. You mean more to me than anything else on Earth - no, I take that back. Anything in the Universe."

Your body weakened, easing into his touch as he held your body close to his: "Really?"

"Words can't describe how much I adore you; how much you mean to me." His voice grew more passionate as he sat himself up, staring deeply into your eyes with increasing ferocity: "Y/N, I lo-!"

His bronze eyes widened; so did yours.

"I.. don't want to rush you into the idea of dating." He tightly closed his eyes whilst clenching his jaw, before his face calmly eased into a smile: "I know how much of an ass Reiner is, and I understand that you need time to discover yourself and heal." He rested his large hand against your stomach, his thumb caressing up and down as you found yourself becoming lost in his eyes, "But just know that I'll wait. I'll wait if it's days; I'll wait if it's years; if decades pass, I'll still wait for the day you're ready, because you are the girl of my-!"

"Connie." You interrupted him, pressing your thumb to his soft lips, "I'm ready."

Connie practically choked, leaning closer towards you: "What?"

"I want to take you out tomorrow." You whispered under your breath, placing your hand on the soft skin of his cheek with your thumb caressing up and down, "Please?"

Butterflies filled your stomach as Connie found himself unable to stop smiling: it was a tooth-achingly sweet smile, with a genuine flush coming on his cheeks.
"Are you asking me out on a date?"

"I want to take you out on a date, Connie." You softly pressed your lips against his cheek before pulling him into a tight embrace, rolling onto your back so that he was on top of you - "An official, real date.. if you'd let me."

With crimson-cheeks, Connie turned his face away from you: "You're.. only saying that because you were drinking earlier."

"I've had a couple of shots, but my minds clear. I want to take you out.. really. On our first official date." You kissed his cheek again, and then again, planting soft kisses along his cheek, temples and forehead as you left a trail of subtle lipstick stains on his skin, "I'm serious, Connie. I want to make this work.. you're the person I want to be with. Even when I was with Reiner, for god sake, you're all I could think about.. You're all I want."

Connie laughed with a boyish smile, kissing your lips delicately before pulling your body even closer: "Dinners on you, right?"

"Fine. But you're paying for our second date."

"It's a deal."
