Suddenly, Connie's face became cold.

It was as if in a single second, his entire face had lost its colour; even his eyes had transformed into a dull shade, rinsed of the pretty-bronze you were so enamoured with.

His expression had completely dropped; wide eyes; parting lips that were twitching to speak, but nothing but hitched breaths escaped; his brows frustratedly creased together.

He swallowed loudly, too scared to even look behind him as his eyes stared forward, "Lisa." He murmured beneath his breath.

You (less scared and more curious) glanced behind to see a beautiful, tall girl stood behind you both; she was breath taking.

Truly perfect.

She delicately pushed her thick-curls off of her shoulder with a soft smile.

"It's been too long, Connie." Even her voice was gorgeous: it was sultry and seductive - each syllable fell perfectly off of her deep, red lips.

Connie fell silent in response: he was completely unidentifiable compared to the charismatic boy earlier that was friendly to every person he saw. He seemed cold and distant, as if trying to separate himself from the situation.

The girl extended her hand towards his shoulder as her golden bangles rattled together.

Connie flinched at the sound of the bracelets alone.

And when her skin touched his, he jumped up from where he was sat.

Able to detect his unease, you stood up: brushing your dress off and taking a step towards him. Not wanting to touch him incase of causing a reaction whilst he was so obviously tense, you gestured your hand towards the door.

"Come on," You spoke clearly as his worried eyes stayed glued onto hers like she was a predator and he was the prey, "I want another can of Coke, help me find one."

Connie instantly nodded, his hand protectively grabbing onto yours as he began to lead you away from the mysterious girl who's name was apparently 'Lisa'. His petrified eyes never left her once; his fingers practically crushed yours from his tight grip as he held onto you.

Connie Springer led you far away, even going to a different floor of the large house: he aimlessly walked, unsure on where he was going - as long as he was far away from the garden, he was fine (or at least that was what he told himself).

"You okay?" You called out above the music that was getting further and further away, "Connie?"

Connie shook his head, offering the faintest of smiles: "Sure. I'm perfect, why'd you ask?"

"I-.. I just-.."

"Oi, Connie!" A familiar voice called out as Jean Kirstien rushed up from behind you both; he wrapped both of his long arms around either of you with a wide, genuine grin pursed on his lips, "Long time no see, Y/N. Keeping her to yourself, Connie?"

Connie pushed Jean off with a lazy laugh as Jean gave you a short, innocent hug: Jean ruffled your hair in between his fingers before he began to walk in between you both.

"I've been looking for you both for ages," The fawn haired boy began, his hands buried deeply inside of his trouser pockets, "Where have you been?"
