"where is she" I yelled as I ran into the hospital at 2 a.m. in the morning. I was woken up to the news that Isabelle beat Elle up. I couldn't believe it. Apparently, Isabelle punched her, dropped her to the floor and jumped on her face.
"sir, you need to calm down right now." A nurse ran up to me, trying to calm me down. I didn't listen and walked up to the front desk.
"where is Eloise grace smith?" I asked determined to see her.
"are you on her visitor list?" the lady asked.
"I don't fucking know! All I know is that she is in this building and in a coma!" I yelled
"well, give me your name and I'll see if you're on the visiting form." She was so calm, this was important and I needed to see Elle!
"James Rolland!" I said in a hurry.
"I'm sorry darling, you're not on her form." The office lady told me. I felt angry tears forming in my eyes. Shit! "but if you sign this form you will get a half an hour visit." This lady was smiling me like I was a three-year-old. I was mad but I took the form and a pen.
"Where are my glasses?" I muttered to myself, yes, I have glasses. I never wear my glasses, I hate them but I need them to read and write, I usually wear contacts but I didn't have time to put some on before I left the room. As I pulled them out of my bag, Memory's flooded back to me. thirteen-year-old us on call and Elle calling me cute whenever I wore them. I let out a quick laugh and quickly scribbled my signature.
"thank you, she's in room 283, level 2. You come out of the elevator, take a left then 2 right's another left and it's down that hallway." The lady told me and I ran off toward the elevators.
I ran up to room 283 as fast as I could.
"Elle?" I asked, walking into the room. I wasn't greeted by Elle's voice, but Allegra's.
"she's in a coma. We don't know when she's going to wake up." She told me.
Allegra had tear's flowing down her face like two waterfalls. I walked over and gave her a hug for comfort. We let go and Allegra sat back down on the chair next to Eloise's head. she was holding Elle's hand and not letting go. Allegra was shivering, it was freezing in here.
"are you cold?" I asked. "or just worried?"
"both, I'm scared she won't wake up. And yes, It's fucking freezing in this room."
I gave Allegra my jacket and held onto her foot.
"thank you." Allegra said in a soft voice through her sniffles.
"you were her favourite person. You know? She never shut up about you or what you were doing that day. She loves you so much." I told Allegra, it was true. Every-time she came over to my room or we went out. It was always; 'Allegra would love this', 'Allegra would kill me if she found out' or 'geez, don't tell Allegra.'
Allegra smiled as I told her all these stories about Elle and I from when we were kids. When we were three, she broke her thumb, and how we'd play 'dragons and warriors.' Now Elle may never have another memory again.
"she hit her head really hard on the floor." Allegra told me, passing me her phone. It was a video of the fight. It was Elle knocking on the door. Pulling a funny face at the camera and focusing on the task at hand.
Hey Izzy I just wan-
I watched Izzy punch Elle right in the face as Elle was going to talk to her. Elle didn't put up a fight, if she wanted to, she would've. I know for a fact.
When we were 5, I bet Elle that I could push her in the pool before she pushed me in. she pushed me in the pool five times before I could get her in. and I was TRYING!
