Rhea's POV
After last night's shenanigans we fell asleep late on the couch. Andrea woke me up around 8:00 in the morning.
"Rhea! Rhea! Get up, we're going to be late!"
"Huh?" I reply. I was still half asleep.
"It's 8:00! We gotta get to set!"
I grab my phone and see that the directors had called me multiple times. I immediately return their calls and say that we had slept in. They were pretty upset, but we promised them that we will be there in literally 2 minutes. Thank god Hoboken is right next to Jersey City. We got there fairly fast, and didn't even pick anything up for breakfast, so we were both starving. We got made fun of by the crew members, as well.
Eventually, the directors said we can go on lunch break. It was probably about 2 or 3:00, so you could imagine how hungry we both were. Andrea and I decided to go on a walk to a cafe nearby, which was a part of one of the closed off areas. As we were walking, one of the producers called Andrea. They told her to go back on set for some kind of meeting for her script.
"Bro, I can't believe this. All I want to do right now is eat and they're making me go back. Can you go to the cafe by yourself to get us food?" She said to me.
"Sure. I'll be right back," I responded.
"Great, thanks. Here's money for it."
I took the money she handed me and started walking towards the cafe alone. The part of Hoboken that we were filming was closed off, and anyone who didn't live or work here wasn't allowed in. I put my airpods in and shuffle my playlist. The first song to play is Lovers Rock. As it was playing, I was scrolling through my playlist, and wasn't paying attention to where I was walking. All of a sudden, I accidentally bump into someone and drop my phone. As I get up from picking up my phone, I stop playing the music and begin to say, "Sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you." I look up, only to see a guy that looks a lot like Jack Hughes. He looked just as speechless as I did. I kept looking at him, only to realize it actually was him. Neither of us said anything for a few seconds, then he finally spoke up.
"Oh, I'm sorry, my bad."
"No you're good. Sorry." I felt myself blushing and my body got heated.
"Rhea Grant?" He said. This is when I completely comprehended the fact that Jack Hughes knew I existed. I wasn't some random fangirl that bumped into him and asked for a picture. He literally knows me and watched the movies I was in.
"Yeah," I nervously chuckle. "Jack Hughes?"
"Yep," He replied anxiously. "What brings you to Hoboken?"
"I'm actually filming a movie." I could barely make out a single sentence. I couldn't believe I was having a conversation with the Jack Hughes.
"Really? What movie?"
We started walking together, but it was like we almost didn't realize. It was just an instinct.
"Can't say. What brings you to Hoboken?"
"I actually live here. My apartment is down that way. It's in one of the areas blocked. Technically I'm not supposed to be here, but it feels nice to be able to go on a walk without thousands of fangirls attacking me."
He was right. Pretty much everywhere I go, I get noticed. I'm pretty much used to it by now, but at first it was really overwhelming. So I guess it is nice to be able to be in public without anyone breathing down your neck.
"Yeah, I get it. I get noticed pretty much everywhere, too. It's kind of tiring after a while."
"Yeah, but how could a girl as pretty as you not get noticed?"
I started blushing again and I couldn't help but smile. I felt like I was about to cry happy tears. I felt my eyes watering. I wasn't sure how to even respond to that, it took me a few seconds to actually comprehend that Jack Hughes complimented me. He called me pretty.
"Oh, thank you," I slightly chuckled.
"No problem." He was really nervous, too. "Wanna go get coffee or something?"
"Uh," I take out my phone and check the time. I see Andrea called me multiple times. I probably didn't hear it because my phone was on silent and I still had my airpods in.
"I actually gotta go back to set," I said disappointingly.
"Oh," he replied. "Y'know, I enjoyed talking to you. It's kinda weird asking this, but can I have your number?"
Oh my god. Jack Hughes just asked for my number.
"Yes," I answer quickly. "Of course."
We traded numbers, then he said, "Alright. Have fun filming. I'll text you later,"
"Alright." We parted ways and I practically ran back to set.
