It was a dark and stormy night when Mabel sat alone in her mansion, staring out the window at the raindrops pelting against the glass. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Madeline, her beloved sister, was married to Javier, the love of Mabel's life. It wasn't supposed to be this way.
Mabel had orchestrated the whole thing. She had arranged for Javier and Madeline to get drunk at the black tie event, knowing that they would end up in bed together. She thought she could finally have Javier all to herself, but fate had other plans.
Javier's sister had walked in on them instead, and there was a media frenzy. Mabel's family reputation was at stake, and the only solution was for Javier to marry Madeline. It was all a sham, but it had to be done.
Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Mabel couldn't help but think of Javier every second of every day. She longed for his touch, his kiss, his embrace. But he was married to Madeline, and Mabel was left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart.
Javier, on the other hand, despised Madeline. He was only married to her to save Mabel's family from ruin. He longed for Mabel, but he couldn't have her. He spent his days drowning in alcohol and his nights dreaming of a life with Mabel.
Madeline, oblivious to it all, loved Javier with all her heart. She couldn't understand why he was so distant and cold towards her. She did everything in her power to make him happy, but it was no use.
And so, the three of them were left to wallow in their own misery, longing for something they could never have. The rain continued to pour down outside Mabel's window, a symbol of the tears they all shed in secret. The storm inside them was far from over.
