Langa had never planned to leave Reki behind. It just so happened that one day he managed to beat Adam in a race, and one day he happened to become the king of S. Reki wasn't able to keep up. He couldn't stand to be around Langa who now tried too hard to please everyone around him. The new Langa- snow- would be cocky and sometimes a little bit of an asshole. So Reki wasn't surprised when Langa slowly started to distance himself from Reki before they stopped hanging out all together.

Reki missed Langa so fucking much. But he was also pissed. He never thought he would be mad at the person he loved most in the world. Yet here he was sitting in bed when he could have been out skating with his best friend... But of course life was cruel.

Langa hadn't thought of Reki much, which was odd- as most of his thoughts used to be about Reki. Skating had become the only thing he could focus on. Yet he would still use the board that Reki gave him. While he did see Reki in school sometimes, Langa never had anything to say to him.

At least until that night.

Until the hoodie.

Langa was clearing out some old stuff when he spotted a red hoodie with a familiar gear on it. Langa felt a lump form in his throat as he picked it up. "Reki.." He muttered to himself. He hadn't said that name in a while. Reki must have left the hoodie there months ago, but Langa had never found it- and Reki had never asked for it back.

Langa should give it back.

Reki found the hoodie dumped on his doorstep and he knew as soon as he saw it who had left it. Reki grabbed his skateboard and flew off into the night. If Langa had given it back- maybe it meant that Langa had been thinking about him. Maybe their friendship wasn't completely ruined. He turned to go past the skatepark when he saw Langa there.

"Langa!" He called out. The blue haired boy stopping and turning quickly. "Reki-" The redhead skated up to him. Reki really wanted to hug him, to beg him to be the Langa he knew before. But... He was more focused on something else. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Reki asked, his tone harsh. He was close to yelling. "What...?"

"You just- fucking ignore me for months without saying shit. Then you come to my house just to drop something off without a hi?"

Langa frowned. "But it's your..."

"I don't give a fuck if it was mine." Reki was aware he was yelling now, and probably swearing more than he should... Given it was the middle of the night. "You could have been giving me anything and my point still stands. I don't fucking care about the hoodie. I care that you left me without even saying goodbye."

Langa went to reach out but Reki pulled away. "Don't touch me Snow." The nickname made Langa flinch- and as guilty as he was.. Reki felt a little pleased with himself for that. "Reki I'm sorry-" Langa managed. "Of course you are." Reki scoffed, but Langa looked pretty upset. Not something Reki thought he would be able to do anymore. "Reki I want to make it up to you.. I regret so much.."
"Langa. I don't want to hear it."

What Langa said next made Reki feel a little guilty. "I'll give up S for you. Just.. Please."
"Don't." Reki found himself saying. His voice was quiet now.. Weak, as he remembered his Langa. The Langa who would do anything just to make Reki smile. "Look- all I need you to do. Is be my friend again."
"Is that it?"
"Yeah for now."

Reki was sure his feelings for Langa had died the same night that Langa had left him behind, but now as Langa hugged him. Those feelings came rushing back- like they had never died, Reki had simply buried them away. Waiting for the moment that Langa would come back into his life and dig them up again. In a way- that hurt. Langa wouldn't feel that way after all this.

At least- Reki thought so.

If you had told him then that two months later he would be turning up to school hand in hand with Langa. If you told him the two would share kisses at lunch- or even at S when they weren't skating. He would have laughed at you, he would have claimed it to be impossible.

But that was exactly where he was- at S. The famous Snow snuggling him like nothing else mattered. They used to get weird looks, but now people just moved on with their day. Though Reki was sure that some were still jealous. Not that Reki couldn't blame them. He'd be jealous if someone got this close to Langa. But he wouldn't have to worry about that. Because Snow- Langa- had promised himself to Reki.

And the promise would last infinitely.
