Daisy Evans had always believed in magic, to the magicians on the streets of London who would show a card trick for fifty pence, to witches living in caves cooking frog leg soup to obtain youth. She'd always wondered what it would be like to have that third eye. The eye that would show her the tricks and show her the answers to her deepest desires.

There was always something more than the eye could see. Something that kept her up at night dreaming of seeing past the brick walls that concealed secrets of the future, and maybe even secrets of the past.

Since the news papers heart breaking announcement, Daisy, Bao, and Heather had walked arm in arm to their classes, they hadn't dared separate for any circumstance. If one wanted to water her plants, the other two would follow, if one wanted to do her hair, the other two would follow, and if one wanted to watch the quidditch training... the other two would follow.

"There hasn't been any attacks recently, maybe it was just a one off, it's been happening for years y'know." Heather said absently, sitting on a bench swing in the courtyard that hung still. It was times like this Daisy wished she could see further, instead of

Professor McGonagall had told her about him, and she was growing more worried about whoever he was each day and if he would strike again. Perhaps the big supermarket, there were lots of people there, maybe a playground to show no mercy to young ones, she sure hoped it wouldn't be anywhere close.

"Professor McGonagall told me The Dark Lord is involved or something." Keeping her voice quiet as to keep other students from overhearing.

Heather dropped her jaw.

"You're not serious."

"No I'm Daisy, and it's true that's what she said I talked to her, I wouldn't make that up."

"Well that's terrific." Heather tutted.

"So... who is this person?" Bao asked, seeing as she were the only girl being kept in the darkness, and Daisy repeated what she remembered from Professor McGonagall, everything from his time at Hogwarts to the attack.

"We'll be fine though." A hint of worry that she hoped hadn't been detected hid in Daisy's voice. She didn't know a thing, but what she could do was attempt in staying calm, be positive, and to not work herself up as she wanted her friends to relax, and in the process convince herself to relax too.

"The aurors would have caught some people now I bet."

"What's an auror?" Daisy asked Heather, becoming rather amused. Which was something that had became very useful recently. Distractions. There were no scared thoughts or worries when Daisy's mind was fixated on something interesting or fun. That's just how things went.

"A magic policeman basically. They catch the bad guys." Wow... how dangerous that must be. Daisy thought being a policeman was scary enough, but with magic involved? That was something of a nightmare.

The aurors were probably huge, strong, stocky men with thick beards and muscles the size of boulders.

"It's really a shame for all of those families. Let's just pray it doesn't happen again..."

Though Bao's words comforted Daisy, she caught the doubtful look on Heathers face which was not afraid to be shown.

Family... that struck a memory for Daisy, and a picture of herself, Lily, and Petunia at either side of her began to appear. Though she was sure that picture had never been taken before, and they looked... different. She was around the same height as Lily, Petunia still the tallest, her legs taking up most of her length, and they all looked very happy.
