I opened my eyes slightly so I could just about see then closed them. I did this a few times to adjust my eyes before I fully opened them to check out where I was.
The room was white. There were white curtains surrounding me. I was tucked under white blankets. Everything looked so clean.
"When will she wake?" I heard a very familiar Australian accent say from nearby.
"Soon hopefully, she suffered a lot of blood loss" another, Australian accent, which was not familiar, replied, "you can go in if you want though to stay with her"
It must have been 2 seconds maximum after that when the curtains opened in front of me.
"LILY YOU'RE AWAKE" Cody screamed as he walked in front of me.
"Urm yeah I guess. Either that or your imagining stuff or I'm dreaming" I winked at him
"Suffered a really bad injury yet still making jokes, that's my baby"
"Yeah yeah that's my baby, that's that's my baby" I sang jokingly to him
"What a tune"
At that moment a nurse came in with Sophie, Mike, Hannah, Alex, Toby, Jake, Alli, Tom, Brad, Angie and Matt.
"Wow, we brought a lot of people in this holiday" I said
Everyone laughed.
"How ya feeling girl?" Said Alli, cheerfully
"As good as you can when you've just been bitten by a shark. By the way, I was wondering how I got out of the water and how the shark let go of me. From what I remember it showed pretty much no signs of letting go"
Everyone looked at Cody "I guess that would be me" he spoke up
I looked up at him, "you saved me?"
"Yeah of course, I wasn't exactly gunna let you get eaten to death by a shark, you're my angel, I would do literally anything for you, even if it meant risking my own life" he lifted up his arm and pointed to a bandage he had on it, "it bit me too, but no way near as bad"
I had tears in my eyes, the thought of Cody risking his life just to save me. He hugged me and I hugged him tightly back and whispered in his ear "please never leave me".
"Never in a million years" I could hear him welling up with tears and hugged him tighter.
I started to hear the other's conversations.
"Jake you'd do that for me right?" I heard Hannah say.
"Of course baby, you're my everything, nothing will ever happen to you as long as I'm around to protect you which will be forever"
As we pulled away from the hug, I invited Cody to sit on the bed with me. We sat there and I rested my head on his chest. He still smelt amazing as always.
As I looked up I saw Toby hugging Alex and kissing her head.
"You okay Alex" I asked
Toby replied for her, "I think she's just glad you're okay. She got quite a shock from what happened and has been crying a lot"
"Come here losers" I said to all of the younger ones
Alli, Tom, Hannah, Alex, Jake and Toby all came over and we had a huge group hug. It was kinda cheesy but it was what we all needed to cheer us up after the eventful day.
