I got home that night and Alex & Hannah were staying round. We decided that we were too excited to sleep so we watched a couple of films in my room. We watched The Proposal first of all and Alex & Hannah were thinking about what it would be like if Toby & Jake were to propose to them. They hadn't even been asked out by them!
I went downstairs to get some popcorn and of course, Sophie was there. Way to drop my mood. I didn't want to get into an argument with her so I just smiled and put the popcorn in the microwave.
"I didn't realise Alex and Hannah were staying tonight"
"yeah well, they are"
"you didn't ask me"
"well I didn't get a say in me coming here so, we're even"
"Lily, what do you mean?"
"what do you think? I was fine with my foster parents but then you came along and I had no say in being adopted and coming here"
"but we can't have children and we really wanted children"
"That's what you wanted, but what about me? I've had the worst childhood with my parents! But I constantly have you interrogating me!"
"we just want the best for you"
"no you don't, ever since that night where...where...well you know what I mean, but ever since then you've never been able to talk to me properly, you shouldnt even be allowed to adopt children! You're the worst parents ever!" the microwave finished and I grabbed the popcorn and stormed upstairs
"Lily!"
"leave me alone!"
When I got upstairs, I could tell Alex and Hannah had heard. I ignored them and headed straight for the knife.
"No Lily!" Hannah said, walking over to me. She grabbed the knife and gave me my phone. "we know you won't talk to us, but talk to him, he will help you"
"we should probably go Han" I heard Alex say
We said our goodbyes and they left. I looked at my phone, picked it up and called Cody.
"Hello?" I smiled to myself at the sound of his thick Australian accent
"hi, it's Lily, from the concert"
"yeah, I remember who Lily is. How could I forget those beautiful brown eyes?"
"thanks" I started crying
"hey, what's wrong?"
"I can't cope with Sophie and Mike. I'm continuously arguing with them, I hate them!"
"don't worry about them. They don't deserve a daughter as lovely and beautiful as you"
That cheered me up straight away
"I've got the day off tomorrow and I'm spending it with Jake and Toby. I'd love it if you, Alex and Hannah were to come and spend it with us. Then we could have a proper chat"
We arranged details and said goodbye.
I texted Alex and Hannah and from their responses, they were very excited. And so was I, it was going to be a good day.
