"I just know that the bastard doesn't like you because he feels threatened by you."
"Threatened?"
Massad frowns at his friend's words unsure if he is serious or joking but he doesn't get the reaction he expects as Kojo stares at him with an unphased look.
"Come on, every time he sees you, he gets all clingy with her and cracks these disgusting jokes about you in hopes of getting you to back off. You don't need a degree to know this. That prick doesn't like seeing you with my sister." Kojo adds again before walking off to the fridge to grab himself and Massad some drinks while quietly muttering a "CEO my foot."
Massad sits back as he takes in his friend's words, silently hoping he's wrong about Tion but can't bring himself to argue because after all, this is the same man that didn't stop "pursuing" Tamara until she fell for his "religious" attempts at showing her he was more than just interested. Now, she was married to this man who was showing his true colors bit by bit and changing the woman he had known since he was a baby.
Kojo returns with some sodas in hand and gives one to Massad who was practically slumping in his seat. He doesn't seem to be any less agitated by Tion as he sits in deep thought.
"You know, sometimes, I think of ways to separate them cause I can't say I like him but then I remember I need to just trust God's timing," he sighs after gulping down some of his soda and sets the drink down, "she's changed so much, I don't even recognize her anymore."
"You're right, she is acting strange. It's like he brainwashed her or something." Massad says and soon realizes his words have some weight when he notices how Kojo frowns at him.
"What? You don't think..."
"He has to be feeding her lies of some sort, Kojo. He's pretty cunning."
"Massad, he's her husband so of course she'll be taking his side when it comes to basically..." he pauses as if trying to find his words before speaking again, "anything. That's normal."
"Yes but..." He sighs, cutting himself off and Kojo uses this opportunity to argue more.
"But nothing. I still don't like him and would rather see her with someone else but I doubt Tamara would let him manipulate her like that. Have more faith in her. She's a smart woman."
At his words, Massad gives up, feeling defeated though he silently hopes there will be another opportunity for him to convince Kojo that something isn't right about Tion.
