ᴏɴᴇ ᴡᴇᴇᴋ ʟᴀᴛᴇʀSometimes Izzy didn't speak. She always wondered how long it would take for someone to notice, if she just stopped talking.
Only a few others knew of her predicament. Harriet, Sonya, Thalia, and Wren. They understand.
They'd only seen it happen once or twice, but it lasted for at least a day. Or longer, depending.
She was staring blankly at a maze wall, not speaking, not moving, not hearing. Harriet could tell it was one of those days.
She learned sign language specifically for her, or she also had a miniature blackboard on the worst days.
Harriet walks over to her, silently dropping on the ground next to her. She doesn't say anything, because she knows she won't get a response.
