"I don't what we're going to do."

"I mean, Ximena is going to side with Beth, most likely."

"Maybe, but does that mean she's gonna stay here with her?"

"No, they're friends, but Ximena isn't stupid."

"She still in the pit?"

"Mhm."

"Good."

Izzy approaches the pit, where Beth is sulking in the corner, fuming at being stuck in there.

"Morning, sunshine."

"Fuck off."

"Salty, are we?"

"You wish."

"Your face says otherwise, Beth."

"Shut up."

"Now, that's no way to talk to the person holding the key to the cage, is it?"

Izzy kneels in front of the pit, a deadly glint in her eyes.

"I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation you're in right now."

'What happened last night was unacceptable. You broke one of our only three rules."

"So what?"

Izzy scoffs, rolling her jaw at the angry dark-haired girl below her.

"So, you broke one of our only rules here. Which you have never broken before, except in training, which doesn't even apply there."

"So, I broke a rule. No big deal."

"It is a big deal. I don't know why you can't get it through your thick skull."

"God, I don't care."

Izzy bends forward more, yanking Beth forward by the collar of her shirt, staring dead into her eyes,

"You better listen and listen well. I could have you killed right here, and right now. The only reason you're in the pit, instead of being a shade's next meal, is because Ximena asked me to wait."

"I don't need her protection. I can handle myself."

"Really? Take a look around you."
