As we stepped outside the school, Jimin approached us. "Haejin, how are you feeling now?" he asked out of concern. "I wanted to stay with you, but only one student was allowed in the nurse's ward."

I smiled at him. "It's okay, Jimin. Just knowing that you care enough to ask means a lot."

Jimin's ears turned slightly pink, and he looked down, scratching the back of his head. "I was just worried, that's all."

I knew Jimin's feelings for me. He had never said it outright, but it was obvious.

And I... didn't feel the same way.

I just hoped he knew that, too. Because if he ever confessed, I didn't know if I'd have the heart to reject him.

After all, Jimin has always been one of my closest friends and has helped me through thick and thin. It's just that ever since Jisoo joined our group last year, I've felt a bit distanced from him.

Nowadays, when Jungkook and I hang out, I miss the times when Jimin used to stay with me. Despite our current situation, I will always cherish the memories I have of Jimin, and our friendship will always hold a special place in my heart.

--- Past (Approx. 1.5 Years Ago) ---

Our class teacher was going to announce the class head today, and I was certain it would be me. After all, I was good at everything, and in our section, Jimin and I were the top students. Namjoon, the topper of Section B, was already chosen as the class head from his section.

When the teacher finally called out the name, I was holding Jimin's hand in anticipation.

"Park Jimin."

My heart shattered.

But at the same time, I knew how hard Jimin had worked for this.

He stood up as his name was announced, walking toward the front of the class to receive his badge. I watched as the teacher pinned it on him. Then came the moment when he was supposed to say a few words about his dedication to the role.

Jimin took a deep breath and smiled in my direction before speaking.

"I, Park Jimin, am honored to be the class head," he began. "But I don't think I would be able to take this duty on my shoulders. So, if it's possible, I would like to pass my position to Kim Haejin."

I froze.

The entire class erupted into whispers, shocked by his decision. Even the teacher seemed taken aback.

"Of course, Jimin. If that's what you want, Haejin is also a great choice for class head." The teacher eventually said.

Tears welled up in my eyes—not because I had won the position but because of what Jimin had just given up

And then, in front of the entire class, he was the one who made me wear the badge.

During the break, I cried for half an hour on the rooftop, overwhelmed by emotions.

Meanwhile, Jimin sat beside me, comforting me as if he was the one who had won and I had lost.

"I'm okay, Haejin," he said, his voice reassuring. "I'm happy if you're happy."

People don't lie when they say he's an angel.

--- Present ---

There were many such incidents where Jimin had helped me, making me feel guilty, selfish, and broken at times. But in the end, he always understood.

After checking on my health, Jimin asked if we could hang out later. It had been ages since we last did, so I agreed without hesitation.

Jungkook, who had been silent all this time, simply looked ahead, his expression unreadable.

Later that day

Jimin's POV

Haejin and I stepped outside together, just like old times. It saddened me how distant she had become. That was never my intention, and I wished I could go back to when things were simpler.

She wore a simple white floral frock with red cherries, her favorite piece of clothing. It suited her so well—soft and graceful, just like her personality.

We visited a café and then went to the park, the same one we used to go to. Sitting there beside her, I felt like we were a couple. Only my heart knew how much I wished that feeling could last forever.

She smiled, but I could tell something was off. I asked about her health, but she reassured me that she was fine.

Although I had a feeling she might be lying, I didn't want to ruin the moment I had been waiting for. Everything felt perfect.

What do you think, guys? If Jimin loves Haejin, then why does he want her heart to be broken by Jungkook?

STAY TUNED TO FING OUT THE REASON FOR JIMIN'S BEHAVIOUR.
