Jungkook's POV

She complimented me, and I couldn't help but tease her a little. Her cheeks flushed a soft pink, and for a moment, I found myself staring. She looked cute—too cute.

But I shook the thought away. It's just a bet.

Namjoon had mentioned that Haejin had never dated anyone before. She was untouched by heartbreak. For the first time, guilt crept into my mind. In the end, I was going to break her heart.

I glanced at her outfit—just a simple T-shirt and blue jeans—but she made it look effortlessly beautiful. After an internal battle on whether or not to compliment her, I finally gave in. "You look cute, (I wanted to say, but instead, I said) Good," I said

She blinked, a little surprised, then replied with a quiet, "Thanks." Her cheeks turned a shade darker, and I felt something strange in my chest.

The celebration carried on, and soon, everyone started heading home. I noticed Jimin looking irritated, probably because of Jisoo clinging to him again.

Sometimes, I wonder why he doesn't just date her, break up in a few months, and get it over with. But then again, Jimin had his reasons for rejecting girls, though I had no idea what they were. Does he like someone?

My gaze drifted to Haejin. She was talking to Namjoon, laughing at something he said. She never smiled at me like that.

And for some reason, I didn't like it.

Later, as she was leaving, she bid goodbye to everyone and went out with Jisoo. I saw Jimin standing, a little upset.

Jimin scoffed, his eyes fixed on Haejin's retreating figure. "You better make her fall for you fast. She's getting on my nerves." Without another word, he walked off.

Why is he so annoyed with Haejin? I thought.

Later that night, after celebrating my win with my family, I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.

For the first time, the thought crossed my mind: should I date her?

It had been a month since I started this bet, and strangely, I hadn't been behind any other girl. I had spent all my energy on her.

I've already come this far. She's going to fall for me eventually.

Or at least, that's what I told myself.

At the Library (Jungkook convinced Haejin to tutor him so they could spend more time together)

Jungkook pulled out a chair, grinning. "Let's sit here. It has a nice view."

Haejin rolled her eyes. "We're here to study, not admire the scenery, Mr. Jeon."

Jungkook chuckled. "Okay, Miss Topper, let's start."

As she arranged her books, she asked, "So, what topic do you need help with?"

Jungkook smirked. "You."

Haejin froze, her fingers tightening around the book. "Okay, I'm leaving."

Jungkook laughed. "Relax, I was just teasing."

She huffed. "You begged me to tutor you, and now you're the one wasting time."

Jungkook leaned back, arms crossed. "Begged? More like... convinced."

Haejin rolled her eyes again. "Whatever."
