After making the announcement, Haejin and Namjoon returned to their classes.

Haejin's POV

The cafeteria incident with Jungkook still lingered in my mind. His attitude was frustrating, but thankfully, Namjoon handled it. Not that it mattered much—Jungkook and Namjoon were good friends, so Namjoon calling him out didn't faze him. Otherwise, he wouldn't have tolerated it.

As I sat down, my eyes wandered to Namjoon again. He was staring at Sana. She wasn't in our class—she was a junior.

So the rumors were true. Namjoon liked Sana.

A sigh escaped my lips. Well, I guess I can't crush on him anymore.

But I couldn't deny it—he was still my ideal type. Now I have to find someone like him.

Jungkook was again sitting with his girlfriend, Ara. Ara and Jungkook had been dating for three weeks. That was already longer than some of his previous relationships.

His last record? Mina—two months and one week. His longest relationship ever.

Every girl in school knew the pattern. They weren't in love with Jungkook, nor did they want anything from him. They were competing—competing to last longer, to prove they were better than the rest, to be the one who finally made him stay.

But everyone knew the truth.

No one ever did.

The Award Ceremony

A few days later, the long-awaited award ceremony for the quiz winners arrived. The entire school gathered in the auditorium, except for one —Jungkook. He had skipped class entirely.

Haejin, however, had no such distractions. Haejin won first place for the first time, replacing Namjoon's perfect record. Namjoon followed closely in second, which was always Haejin's record. Second.

The applause rang out as students congratulated them. Suddenly, Jimin approached Haejin, hesitant at first.

"Congratulations, Haejin," he said, his voice softer than usual.

She smiled. "Thank you, Jimin." They were just two simple words. But for Jimin, it felt like heaven.

The weekend passed, and Monday arrived again. Haejin sat at the breakfast table, deep in thought with her brother, Soobin.

They were talking about random things, then the topic shifted to Haejin's career. Coming from a business family background, she also wanted to pursue business.

"If you want to pursue business, why not aim for Harvard or Stanford? They're the best." Soobin said, grabbing her attention.

Haejin paused, stirring her tea. "That's true, but it's extremely competitive. There are very few seats for international students."

"But it's worth trying, right?" Soobin replied.

His words lingered in her mind long after breakfast.

On the way to school, she was only focused on what her brother had said. Studying in another country. Experiencing different cultures. A whole new life. And just like that, she had a new goal.

I have to score amazingly in my finals.

At School Cafeteria

As soon as Haejin entered the cafeteria, she noticed the tense atmosphere.

Ara was crying. Several girls sat beside her, trying to comfort her. At first, Haejin couldn't understand what had happened, but eventually, she found out that Jungkook had broken up with Ara.

Haejin wasn't surprised. No one was.

Before she could go anywhere, Jisoo approached her. "Let's have lunch together today."

Haejin raised an eyebrow. "Wow, you're finally free? Not eating with Jimin today?" she teased.

Jisoo rolled her eyes, laughing. "Shut up."

Haejin and Jisoo found a table and started eating. A few tables away, Jungkook, Namjoon, and Jimin sat together.

Jimin barely touched his food. His gaze kept shifting toward Haejin's table.

Jungkook noticed and asked. "Hey, Jimin. What are you looking at?"

Jimin quickly snapped out of it. "Nothing." He pulled out his phone. "Look at this, though." He turned the screen toward Jungkook, displaying a picture of a sleek, limited-edition sports car.

Jungkook's eyes widened. "No way. Your dad bought this for you?" Jungkook was a sports car enthusiast. If you want anything done by him, just give him a sports car, which is quite an expensive deal.

Jimin nodded, smirking slightly. Jungkook leaned forward, interest sparking in his eyes. "That car is insane. I want it."

Jimin chuckled. "You can't get it. There were only 15 models made. They're all sold out."

Jungkook frowned, but then his expression shifted. "Then give me yours."

Jimin tilted his head, pretending to think. "Hmm... I might."

Jungkook's eyebrows shot up. "Wait, seriously? What's the catch?"

Jimin's eyes flickered toward Haejin's table. She was peacefully eating, completely unaware of their conversation.

A slow smirk formed on his lips.

"I'll give you the car," Jimin said, voice low, "but you have to do something for me first."

What is Jimin about to tell Jungkook? Stay tuned!
