FRANKIE
I completely understood exactly where Raiden was coming from a few days ago and he did have a point.
We both promised to always tell each other everything no matter what and I agreed to let his men be near by whenever he was not able to.
This morning I had decided to cook a big breakfast for everybody so that we all could sit down and eat like we used to before things got crazy in our lives.
Once we finished, Helena and I headed off to the shop while everybody else went on with their business as usual.
When walking into the barbershop, the barber's seemed to greet me a little differently and apparently were thinking up of some new nicknames for me ever since they witnessed what they had a few days ago and I can not blame them. However, the nicknames were a bit cliche for me. Although at the same time, humourous.
Occasionally throughout the day they would make a reference in how they will do whatever I asked them to as long as I don't try and cut them or anything.
With an hour left until closing time, I had sent the rest of the staff home, but Helena stayed behind to help me with some inventory real fast.
"Oh hey, I forgot to give this to you earlier." She tells me as she carries a heavy box from the back towards the front.
"Thank you." I tell her and recognize the address right away in where it's from. "Oh my god, it's from Hallie."
"Hallie?" Helena asks. "Oh right, the girl who was your neighbor, right?"
"Yeah. She was going to come down for the wedding." I tell her while cutting the box open wondering why she would send anything when she could have brought it with her in a few months.
The moment I opened the flaps of the box, a horrendous foul smell invaded the shop and both mine and Helena's nose while I noticed wrapped in seran wrap was the worst thing I had ever seen. It was horrifying and I suddenly felt myself not being able to contain myself as I quickly grabbed the nearest trash can and threw up.
"What the fuck?! Is that what I think it is?!" Helena cried out as she covered both her nose and mouth.
"Oh my god!" I began to cry as I stood back up and saw Hallie's now lifeless eyes looking at me before screaming out in frustration.
Within a brief moment, the door to the shop flung opened and in ran the guys who were waiting for Helena and I to get off to follow us back home.
Helena quickly closed the flaps and then pulled me in tight to her chest, letting me soak her top in tears.
"Get Raiden here, NOW!" She yelled out to the guys as she tried to take me towards the back and away from the box.
I could not believe it! I REFUSED to believe it. Who would do such a thing?!
Helena was trying to do everything in her power to try and calm me down but I could not stop sobbing as she held me and comforted me.
Hallie was such a great person and she did not deserve that. I feel so guilty ever remaining friends with her even though she told me she did not care what I became or anything. She knew the possible risks involved with just knowing me and unfortunately had paid the price.
"Shh. It's okay." Helena tries to calm me.
"It's not. It's all my fault she's dead! I should have never met her." I try to say between sobs.
"It's not your fault. It's okay." She tries to soothe me.
"Why did this have to happen?! I don't fucking understand!" I sobbed.
"I know. But..." She began to tell me until we heard the door open and in ran Raiden.
He knelt down in front of me and I immediately threw my arms around him and soaked his shirt now in tears while he took now was holding me.
"I'm so sorry baby." He tells me.
"Why?!" I cried out.
Nobody said anything and when I looked over his shoulder at where the box was, I noticed it wasn't there.
"Frankie..." Raiden started but I stopped him.
"Where did the box go?" I asked.
"I had the guys take it away." He tells me.
"No. We need to burry her." I start frantically telling him.
"Frankie, it's not going to happen." He tries to explain.
"The hell it won't. She deserves a proper burial. That is the least I can fucking do." I struggled to try and push away from him but his grip got tighter when I tried wriggling my way free from his grasp.
"Alright. Alright. We will." He promises me.
"I want him dead. I want his fucking head. I want to watch him bleed to death. I want to kill him myself and watch him suffer while begging for mercy." I tell Raiden after pulling my head back a little and look at him.
"We'll find him. Don't worry." Raiden promises me. "Come on. Let's close up and go home."
Helena grabs our things and closes up before we start to leave back towards the house.
We were not farther from the house but several feet when suddenly Markus stopped the car abruptly, the moment we heard a deafening blast coming from the house. Within seconds the entire structure of what we called 'home' was engulfed in flames as the air was consumed with dark clouds of smoke.
The car windows had all been shattered as a result from the explosion and the conflagration caused by the blast was so intense that it could be seen from miles away. Soon, the fire department as well as other authorities would be here and we needed to leave right now.
Markus along with the other guys behind us all stepped on the gas and we sped off towards nowhere, at the moment.
None of us had any time to respond to what had just happened. However, we all know who was behind this.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
