FRANKIE

Ever since the other night, when O'Connell and Raiden spoke with each other, it seems like Raiden does not want me out of his sight and has been extra clingy.

Aside from me having to use the restroom, he seems to always have his eyes on me and as much as I love that he wants to be with me, I am feeling like there is more to this recent behavior. So today I decided to finally come out and ask him while him and I were relaxing outside, laying on our backs next to one another with my head on his arm, on a blanket having a nice romantic picnic.

"Baby?" I asked.

"Hm?" He replies with his eyes still closed.

"Now, I don't want you to take offense to this and I am not sayong this as a bad thing really, but I was wondering, why have you been extra clingy for the past week?" I ask him.

"What do you mean?" He asks.

"Raiden?!" I tell him while sitting up.

He then lets out a breath before sitting up and begins explaining.

"The other night when O'Connell had come over, I am ashamed to admit that I was jealous and upset when I walked into the house and the first thing I saw was you and him laughing. I assumed he was trying to hit on you."

"Ohh..." I replied surprised.

"But then shook that idea out of my head and when him and I had talked in the office, he brought up that he understood how I felt and reassured me that was not his intentions and that he had felt like your cooking and your personality was comforting to him because you reminded him of his late wife." He continued then became a little more emotional before continuing.

"Then he told me not just how much he loved his wife but what had happened to her one night when they were celebrating their anniversary, he was getting their car and as she waited outside the restaurant for him, somebody walked right up to her and shot her. She practically died right in his arms and after finally getting her to the hospital, she was pronounced dead. Both her and their unborn child she was pregnant with." He finishes.

I felt heart broken for O'Connell and what happened to his wife and their unborn child. In fact, the moment he mentioned she was pregnant, I immediately touched my stomach. We shared another moment of silence before I finally figured out what to say next.

"I'm so sorry baby." I tell him while rubbing his back.

"Don't be. I'm sorry if I am being overbearing and if it bothers you and you feel I am being too much, just tell me." He says as he takes hold of my hand.

"Well, you haven't been too much to the point where I feel I am being suffocated but was just curious to see if it was because of something happened or something that was said between you and O'Connell that night about Chester or something." I tell him.

We look at each other briefly and smile before leaning in to give one another a long and passionate kiss before laying back down looking up at the sky a little longer before heading into the house.

Tonight while Raiden and I were asleep, we heard a loud banging on the front door. It startled everybody, waking us up except for the couple of Raiden's men who were standing guard and as we all ran out to see who it was, we noticed it was O'Connell and a few of his men with one injured whom was being helped over onto the couch.

I immediately ran to grab the First Aid kit and when I came out, I could tell the guy was going to need stitches and since I am the only one who can stitch a wound because there is no doctor nearby, I try and have them help me clean it up first.

"What in the hell happened?!" Raiden asked.

"I found out who Chester is working for!" O'Connell states.

The moment that name came out of his mouth, we all just went silent and did not move.

"Before one of his men died after they broke into our home tonight, we finally got a confession." O'Connell began. "The name is Vince De Marcos. He is the son of Luigi Demarcos and...." O'Connell was interrupted by Raiden.

"Shit!" Raiden says as he runs his fingers through his hair in frustration.

"Who is that?" I asked as I finished stitching up the guy.

"He is the most heartless and RUTHLESS sick fucks that ever walked this earth. He murdered his own father just to take over the business that his father had originally was going to hand over to his little brother but apparently never got to do." Raiden explains.

"Yeah well, according to what I heard about a month ago now, he apparently killed his brother due to failing a task that involved trying to get the location on you." O'Connell states while looking at me.

"What?" I asked. "Why is he looking for me?"

"Nobody knows." He replies.

"So THAT is why that one asshole who came to the shop not that long ago, that is who he works for." I say under my breath.

"Yes. And it seems like tonight was a message and we need to prepare for a big fight. He early has our whereabouts and if not already knows about this place now." O'Connell mentions.

We all look at each other and agree together that we need to be armed and ready.

O'Connell suggests it would be best for us to take turns standing guard so that there is more of us just in case and to be prepared for what is to come.

I was worried but had been trained by Raiden and his guys and even them showing me some self defense moves, for a while now, so I do feel a bit better.

I will do whatever it takes to defend our family and friends. I know I need to protect my unborn child as well but at the same time, should also be prepared for the unexpected and what is to come at any moment now.
