--------------------------------------------------------

𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 that night. Anytime she closed her eyes, she got visions of being attacked again. Whether it was images of Wes being attacked, or someone else being the victim, it didn't matter. She was victim to all sorts of nightmares.

That is why she now found herself back at her house. There was still police tape up as they were investigation what happened. Instead of going into the house, she hobbled over to the side gate, that led to the garden.

She was headed to the swing set.

Her and Wes' spot.

Fortunately for her, no police were present at 4am.

She spotted the swings, causing tears to well up in her eyes. She limped over and sat down. Her injuries weren't serious enough for her to be in a wheelchair but she was supposed to use her crutches. However, she left them at the Meeks-Martin's house as if they were missing, it would indicate to the family that she had left. She didn't want that.

She sat swinging for about an hour before she heard noise.

She didn't even flinch.

If it was Ghostface, she'd let them kill her with no fight. She didn't feel like she had much to live for. Of course she had her friends.

And Chad.

But her and Chad's relationship was hanging from a tiny thread.

One she was tempted to cut.

"Aurora." She heard shouting. She was sick of people shouting for her.

"Ro." The voice spoke softly. At the nickname she lifted her head. It was a nickname that Wes once tried to call her but she turned him down immediately. She thought it didn't give off princess vibes and told the boy to ditch it.

She hadn't heard it in years.

However she wasn't met by Wes, like she hoped. It was Chad.

Her eyes softened when she saw the boy. He was stood on the grass, wearing plaid pyjama bottoms with no shirt.

Usually, she would swoon over the boy's naked top half but she was too in her head to even think about it.

He came and sat on the swing next to her when she didn't reply.

On Wes' swing.

"I was worried about where you went." Chad spoke up after a few moments of silence.

"How did you know I left?" Aurora whispered so quietly you would have thought she didn't say anything.

"I couldn't sleep." It was the truth, he couldn't. He was too worried about Aurora. All he wanted to do was go downstairs and cuddle her on the couch and tell her everything was going to be alright. It wasn't. But he couldn't. He knew she needed space.

When Aurora looked up at the moon, it was only then that Chad noticed there were tears silently falling down her face. He moved his hand to her face in an attempt to wipe them but was stopped by Aurora.

"Don't."

"Rora, I'm just trying to comfort you." Chad furrowed his eyebrows.

"Stop with the nickname."

"Why do you think I left my house in the middle of the night when I realised you were gone?" Chad questioned, raising his voice slightly. Not that Aurora even flinched. "It's because I care about you so damn much-"

"Then stop." Aurora cut him off, her now being the one with the raised voice.

"What?"

"Stop caring."

"Aurora, I can't do that." Chad spoke softly.

"Tough." Aurora spoke with no emotion, even though inside it was like her heart was being ripped in two. "You need to because it's causing too much pain."

"Rora, what are you talking about?"

"Stop with the Rora!" Aurora shouted, tears flooding down her face even more. "How do you think I feel knowing that I was lying to Wes when he died?"

Silence.

"He must now be looking over me thinking, how could my own fucking sister lie to me? My blood. I lied to him for months. He even asked me if there was anything going on. I had the perfect opportunity to tell him. And I lied. To me twin brother. My other half. I fucking lied." She paused to wipe her tears. "All I do is lie. For you. I am lying to everyone that I love for you." Aurora cried.

"You think I want to lie." Chad spoke softly.

"Then we don't."

Both their hearts shattered into a million pieces.

Who would have thought three words could break two people so badly.

Three simple words.

"That's it then." Chad's voice cracked slightly.

"Yeah." Aurora tried to put a brave face on. She had no idea why she was doing this. Did she really want to?

"Goodbye, Rora." Chad couldn't even look at her. He knew what he'd do if he looked at her.

"Goodbye." Aurora swiftly stood up from her swing and left. Sure, she was staying at the Meeks-Martin's house but she would just avoid Chad. She would tell Mindy that they argued again.

She had been through so much, that people wouldn't question her actions. Or challenge her. She knew Chad wouldn't either. He cared too much. She knew.

Chad was left alone.

He put his head in his hands as he cried.

He wished things had gone differently.

He wanted to tell her everything. Everything he felt when they were together. And more importantly everything he felt when they were apart.

He wanted to tell her that he broke up with Liv.

For her.
