Walking into the park, with coat in hand, I went straight towards the statue. I could hear the little kids playing on the playset. I smiled, remembering when my family would visit our grandparents for the weekend. They would then take us to the park and we would play for hours.

"Arline!" A voice called. It was Wes. Hearing him call my name made me smile. "Stop Arline." I told myself.

I walked a bit quicker towards Wes.

"Hi Wes!"

Wes stood up and came to greet me.

"I didn't know if you were going to come or not."

"Well, I'm here now."

Neither of us said anything, and it quickly became awkward.

"So-" We both said at the same time, then laughed.

"You go first." I told Wes.

He smiled before starting. "I really uh- want to apologize in person for leaving yesterday."

"It's all forgiven." He smiled again, making my heart skip a beat.

"Well, could I make it up to you?" He asked.

"It seems to me like you're always making things up to me," I said, "but yes."

"I was hoping you would say that." Wes said and with that, he grabbed my hand and we walked along the path.

Wes holding my hand felt different than anything else. As soon as he took my hand, I could have sworn that my hand started sweating. If it did, Wes never said anything.

We walked down the path until we came to the parking lot.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll see." Wes walked over to a car and unlocked it with the key. Taking his hand out of mine, he opened the car door and I slid in. "What am I doing?" I thought. "I barely know Wes and now I'm in his car? He could be taking me to his basement to murder me for all I know."

"Ready?" He asked.

I nodded. "Wait. He lives in an apartment. He doesn't have a basement." I realized and chuckled.

Wes started the car and he drove down the road. "What was that chuckle for love?" He asked.

"Just a thought." I answered.

"Alright. Here's the plan. I'm going to tell you nothing of what we are doing, and you can't say no. Alright?"

I nodded.

While we were on the road, Wes asked questions, and I answered. Wes turned on the radio, and asked me more questions.

"Here's a new one." He started. "if you could do anything, what would you do and why?"

"Easy. I'd like to go to a concert to see someone perform."

"Why?"

"I really enjoy listening to music, and it would be fun."

"You wouldn't want to travel the world?"

"I mean, yeah, that would be fun, but that gets really expensive, and I don't have that kind of money."

"Say you did have that kind of money. Would you travel the world then?"

I paused, thinking about what I could do if I actually had money. "I don't think I would or really could say no, but I've never really been anywhere besides Leicester and Manchester."

Wes went silent. "Add London to your list." He said quietly.

I looked out the window and saw a "Welcome to London" sign. I gasped.
