My parents had sent a letter invite to the front desk of the lobby, and Wesley somehow managed to get it. They had invited Wesley and me to a Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, and Wesley had told them that we would be there.

So that's where we were.

"Ready?" Wesley asked me as he parked the car in the driveway.

"Well, I didn't really think that the next time I would see my parents, it would be after they leaked things to the press."

"Yeah, it is unfortunate timing, I'll admit that, but it was bound to happen sooner or later."

"I didn't really want it to happen this way."

"It'll be fine Arli. Now come on, I'm hungry." We both got out of the car and Wesley wrapped this arm around me as soon as he could. We walked up to the front door and Wesley knocked on the door. I heard someone coming to the door and my mom opened the door.

"Arline! Hi, it's so good to see you dear," She looked over at Wesley, "Nice to meet you." She said flatly and opened the door wider so we could come in. She closed the door and watched as Wesley helped me out of my coat and hung it up for me before doing the same with his own.

"Aunty!" Genevieve ran towards me.

"Hi little one." I picked her up in a hug.

"My dwess." She squirmed out of my arms.

"Ahh so pretty."

"What do you say Genevieve?" My mom asked here.

"Fank you!" She said before running off into the living room.

Wesley leaned down to my ear, "I didn't know you had a sibling."

I whispered back, "Tell you later."

My mom watched us for a bit before leading us into the living room. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and some cousins' kids filled the room. My mom went and talked with a few people while Wes and I stood in the corner of the room.

These were people who I hadn't seen in a long time. Even my great aunt Jenny was sitting on the sofa talking with my cousin Benny and his twin daughters, Laura and Maura. Twins run in the family.

"I haven't seen some of these people in years." I whispered to Wesley.

"If you want to go mingle, I'll be good here."

"No, I'm good." Wesley rubbed his hand up and down my back while I leaned against his side.

My dad then walked in the room and with his loud voice, greeted me. "Arline, so nice to see you! It's been a while."

"Hi Dad."

He turned towards Wesley. "This must be the famous boyfriend of yours, huh?" I blushed, not knowing what to say.

Wesley spoke for me, "Hello Mr Roni, I'm Wesley, it's a pleasure to meet you. Your family is lovely." He extended his hand and my dad shook it, smiling.

"Very nice to meet you as well. Now, I would like to apologise on the behalf of my wife, she's the one who gave everything to the press. I was very much against it." Then his phone rang and he excused himself, saying it was work.

"He doesn't seem too bad." Wesley said to me.

"He's not normally like that. Something's coming and he wants you to trust him. I don't like it."

"Relax Arli, nothing's going to happen," He placed a kiss on my lips and laughed. "You have a big family. Bigger than mine."

"Would you believe me if I said that this isn't everyone?" He laughed and shook his head. "This is only my mom's side of the family. My mom has six siblings, and my dad has five plus four step siblings, but they are so close that he says he has nine. They're in Ireland, Australia, and the US."
