IN BETWEEN — CHAPTER FOURTEEN
( I was falling even more )

CHRISTMAS WAS FINALLY ON ITS WAY. As much as Christmas Eve was fun, Bailey and Raine could feel the awkward tension between Louis and I. It was so bad but there was something alright. Louis had dragged me to the other room so that he could give me the present. In his hand he held a little small box that was wrapped in plain pink wrapping paper. 'To. B. From Lou'.

I smiled at him before taking the gift from his hands. A part of me wanted to wait until it officially hit midnight to open it but Louis brought me over here for a reason. It was a light present so I wasn't expecting much—it was the thought that counts. I opened it up to reveal a necklace and a matching bracelet with a small rose on it. I was in awe.

"Louis...." I gasped, examining them. "This is beautiful oh my god".

"I'm glad you like it" he smiles. I look up at him and give him a huge warm hug in return. He gives me one back.

"That was cute and all but we're getting ready to open up the presents so...if you wanna come, hurry" Raine sassed a little as she watched from the doorway.

I stood up from my seat and smiled at her a little before placing the necklace and bracelet back into the box—thanking Louis once again.

He was so sweet.

My heart was pounding a little. This was the time, giving Jack his present. Once again, my overthinking came through and I felt shaky. Was jack even going to like my present, I wasn't entirely too sure about this.

I tried sitting next to Bailey but she immediately blocked it, of course she did. Both raine and her were trying to get me to sit next to Jack. Which it worked because the empty seat on the ground was with him. My little sister Inez came running to us and hummed as she tried finding a spot on the ground. I can see the panic on her face. "Ez, it's okay. Sit here in front of me" I pat the floor in front so she can sit down, instead, she walks over to Jack and sits on his lap.

"Are you comfortable there?" Jack laughs, he didn't seem taken back by it. I found it adorable and looked at him and my little sister in such awe.

"yes!" she replies back.

I grab my glasses from the counter behind me and begin reading the names off the presents. We let my siblings go ahead first as they were already growing tired and I can tell. They got gifted tons of toys especially baby dolls and Barbie dolls. It was adorable.

Inez didn't want to go to bed yet—instead she still sat with Jack as she helped take off the wrapping paper from his presents. The only one who didn't give him a present was Louis...which was harsh. I handed Jack his present and immediately I could tell he knew what it was. He gasps as he opens up the new deck that I was able to make for him quickly. It was avatar themed and he had a huge smile on his face. "Blair! This is absolutely amazing. The deck is so cool. I love it".

   "I'm really glad you like it" I say to him. As everyone else was opening up their presents it felt like it was just us in the room sharing this moment. "Honestly the first thing I thought was avatar".

   "No no it's cool".

   "It was also hard to find a gift for you since I don't know much about you" I laugh. A complete lie that was!

  He nods his head in agreement.  "Tell me about it! It was hard finding you something but I was able to get two things". He reaches for his pocket and takes out a small jewelry box and hands it to me. "That's the first thing".

    I opened it up—oh my god. Bailey had to tell him about this..or even Raine, because I know for a fact Jack didn't know my favorite Taylor Swift album. I looked at the necklace, it had a pink little diamond and had said lover at the bottom. "Flip it around" he says. And so I did; 1989 my second favorite album.

   At this point I felt my cheeks heat up. I lean in and give him a hug—as I hear Bailey and Raine immediately stop talking. I notice Raine writing in her notebook. She was onto something and I wanted to know more about it, she had been writing whatever in it for months already—it must've been a big secret.

   "It's really beautiful Jack" I look up at him and smile and kind of scrunch my nose. "My favorite albums are definitely lover and 1989, can you help?". I lift up my hair and hand him the necklace so he can place it on. Inez moved away from him and came to the front of me to see the necklace—she to gasped and said it was pretty.

   "There you go!" he said. "It looks beautiful on you".

   I hear Bailey and Raine giggling as they try not to be too obvious. But, it pretty much failed as they looked over at the both of us before laughing even more.

    Oh what friends I have.

   "I'm sleepy" Inez pouts, she wraps her arms around me and lays her heard on my shoulder. "Okay, I'll put you to bed" I stand up as I carry my little sister in my arms.

    "Here I got her" Louis offers.

   "Uh no it's okay, Louis, thank you though" I say to him. I walk up the stairs with a huge smile on my face. What a night. I was so in love with my gift I couldn't think about anything else— which I had almost forgotten, another gift was awaiting.

   This was already too much and I was falling even more for Jack.
