feb 14 valentines day

CENTRAL PARK was packed as expected. In every spot there were couples out eating and having the time of their life; gifting each other gifts and sharing just amazing memories. But I had Matt and Jack with me to tag along. I didn't mind much about Jack as to he seemed excited to be here with the both of us. Though, I felt bad for Matt missing out on his first valentines with Raine. She tried her best to make it here but couldn't because of her scheduling problems. In a month Raine was finally going to open for Taylor and it's all she ever dreamed of, but the kids at school, they constantly asked for free tickets to a show. Like I could do it on my command, as if.

We made it to a plain grassy field and Matt set up a blanket so that we wouldn't get itchy by the grass. I had to admit, we were getting weird stares by other people; it's not like you see three well known people out in Central Park on Valentine's Day having a picnic.

"Ignore them" Jack shrugged, but i can tell he was also uncomfortable.

I sigh, "No, you guys seem uncomfortable. They're gonna start making up these weird rumors".

"I mean I'm already calling Raine" Matt smiles, as he held up his phone and lays another blanket out for himself. He then laid on his back and started talking to Raine, it was adorable.

I set down the picnic basket and laid out two plates for Jack and I, handing Matt his with his sandwich and chips.

"What did you guys pack?" Jack asks, looking over into the basket.

"Well sandwiches, chips, fruit, and chocolate for you".

"For me?" he smiles.

I nod my head. "Yeah you like chocolate so I got you some Jack".

"Thank you, Blair" he thanks, as he reaches for the heart shaped candy box in the basket. As he takes it out his eyes widened and looks at me unsure if it was okay to accept the gift. "Blair ... I didn't get you anything at all".

"Oh" I mumbled. "No no, you shouldn't have. This was just like a little snack so it's okay".

He threw his hands in the air as defense. "I actually have an idea, so that we can leave Matt some alone time while he talks to Raine". We look back at him and he smiles at us to insure he was okay with it. "First let's eat!".

awhile later —

Matt was still on the phone with Raine, as he promised he'd be on the phone with her until it was time for her to go.

Jack and I were packing the picnic bag before Matt stood up and said, "don't worry guys, I got it. You guys go have fun wherever you were gonna go!". I suspiciously raised my eyebrows at Matt and rolled my eyes; handing him the picnic basket.

"Shall we?" Jack deepened his voice jokingly. He put his arm out for me to link with his but I jokingly rolled my eyes and walked away. "Hey!" he called out as he followed me along, "you don't even know where we're going?".

"Tell me where we're going" I say, stopping in my tracks and turning to him.

"Uhhh" he scratches the back of his neck nervously. "We're going to the pet adoption center to play with some puppies".

I frown, "I can't do that".

"Why not?".'

"Because then I'd feel bad and I'd wanna adopt it".

"Okay...? Let's go" he says, he began walking and I groan. He wasn't listening to me. I knew we were going to the one close by and it didn't take us long to get there, he opened the door, but i shook my head. "I'm not going in there".

"But I want too" he sighs, still waiting for me to open the door. I bite my lip and question it for a bit. All I was going to do was walk in, play with the puppies, and leave after awhile. As he saw me move closer he smiled and we both went inside.

The thing about me is that I could never say no. Especially when it came to jack, I mean. He was just standing there with his beautiful eyes waiting for me to walk into the center—a center filled with cute adorable puppies!

"We're here to play with puppies" Jack cheerfully said to the front lady. "If that's okay.."

"Of course that's okay!" she replied back. "Follow me we have a puppy".

My eyes lighten up at the word puppy and Jack seems to notice as he shoots me a small smile. What devastated me the most was hearing all the other smaller puppies barking as we passed by; this was what I hated.

"This is Laila" the owner says, as she opens the kettle. "Laila is a Cocker Spaniel puppy and we recently got her".

"I want it" I gasp, and immediately bend down to pet Laila. "I can adopt her right?".

She begins to laugh, "absolutely! But do you wanna see other dogs? I mean there's many more different breeds to choose from".

"She likes these dogs" Jack says to her, "she's been wanting one. She'll get it, it's Valentine's Day". I stop petting Laila and look up at Jack. There was no possible way he knew that...Matt of course. He told him.

"I'll make sure to get her ready!" The lady smiled, as she picked up Laila and took her for a bath. Once she left, me and Jack waited out in the front. It was quiet for a few moments before he spoke up and said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Blair".

"I'm paying this" I say.

"No you're not" he laughs at me. "I am. It's Valentine's Day and you're getting that from me".

"And I just got you silly little chocolates" I begin to complain. "That's such an awful gift compared to this one".

"No it's not"— He looks at me with his brown eyes once again, then at my hands, intertwining his with mine. "Again, Happy Valentine's Day".

Was I dreaming? I had to be dreaming in fact. There was no way that Jack actually did this for me....but oh, he did.
