—I've been lonely too long
Oh, I can't be so strong
Take the chance for romance
Take my heart
I need you so
There's no time I'll ever go—
– Modern Talking
When they pull in, the sun is long gone, darkness has surrounded them on their drive.
The house is on the lake, though it's unkept and looks as if no one has lived there in a very long time. Steve pulls his keys out, killing the engine as they all slowly climb out of the car.
They all grab flash lights from Steve's trunk then venturing to the front door, Dustin rings it but nothing happens, no lights turn on, no shuffling, no opening of the door. Dustin clicks it again and again and then rapidly clicks the doorbell.
"Okay, well that's settled. Looks like he's not here." Steve murmurs.
"Eddie! It's Dustin!" He shouts.
"Great." Steve whispers. Alex sees Maax wandering off so she decides to follow her, they walk around the porch, shining their flashlight through the windows, they can hear Dustin continuously pushing the bell, yelling Eddie's and Rick's name, followed by a more quiet Steve telling him to not scream that.
"He could just be really high." Dustin offers. "Is that a foot?"
"No, that's a shoe." Steve dismisses. Alex follows the flashlight to what's ahead, it seems to be some type of shed, for storing boats and an enclosed dock.
"Hey, guys!" Max raises her voice, gathering the trio's attention that's still on the porch.
They closely make their way over to the shed, shining their light through the window. Making their way towards the cracked open door. "Hello?" Robin calls out, stepping inside. "Is anyone home?"
"He's probably scared shitless." Alex says, walking in herself. "Remember I didn't talk for two weeks after Starcourt."
The floorboards creak as the rest of the group walks in, Steve speaks next. "What a dump."
There are things all over the place, ladders leant against the walls, a boat covered by a tarp, a table filled with food trash and beer cans, life jackets, basically anything you could never need was here. Things look as though they were thrown around carelessly, nothing having a home, like a junk drawer.
Alex watches as Steve grabs an oar from where it was mounted on the wall, slowly moving towards the boat under the tarp, and making Alex jump when he quickly jabs the oar onto the tarp, punchering the poor boat. He keeps hitting at it as Dustin looks at him, concerned. "What are you doing?"
"He might be in here." He doesn't give up on his jabs, persiting, it reminds Alex of Dustin with the doorbell.
"T-take the tarp off." Dustin motions to the boat.
