The Story of Grace

Chapter 13

Grace's POV.

   The next day I decided I had to tell Jace. I mean Lexi needed a place to stay and Jace needed to know why. So when I woke up I kicked Lexi's side, since she was asleep on my floor most likely hungover. She groaned. "Lexi com'n we have to tell Jace before he leaves for work!" She then sat up and nodded. "I'll get you an aspirin" I said as I walked out. Jace was in his room still probably getting ready for work when I specifically told him he doesn't need a job.

   I got some aspirin and a glass of water for Lexi then walked back upstairs. She was dressed in black knee ripped jeans and a 5SOS crop top. Then I changed into some black skinnys and a white t-shirt with my white high top converse. Then we brushed our teeth and hair. Then we walked downstairs to find Jace eating breakfast.

   He looked up and smiled. "How you feeling? Partied a little to hard did we?" Jace smirked referring to Lexi. She blushed then said "Fine I guess" I then sat down on the counter. Lexi did the same and then Jace got the message and sat across from us.

   I started off  with "Look Jace...there's something I wanna tell you." Then I looked at Lexi "well we" I added. "This doesn't sound good" he sighed. So I continued "Can Lexi stay with us for awhile?" Jace smiled slightly confused. "I mean it's not my house but I'm sure mom and dad won't mind" he gave me a look. I never wanted people over because they faught so much so I just gave him a small nod. "Thank you so much It means alot to me." Lexi added. "Can I ask why?" He asked. "That's what we wanted to tell you" I said. We told him, how her dad was an alcoholic and she explained that he always was like that and would sometimes be violent and abusive towards her. Then I told him how he had slapped me. He looked pissed. Then he stood up to leave but I went after him.

   "Jace it's fine please don't do anything stupid" he wasn't having it but I wasn't going to let him go. "Look you can take us to get the rest of her stuff later it'll be fine okay?" He nodded. "Okay fine, I'm already late see you later" he said then left. I walked back to Lexi then sighed "That went well..." She laughed "Yeah I guess"

   Later she had work and I had to go to the library to study. Then we met up back at my house. My parents were home, my dad in the living room and mom in the dinning room on her phone. Jace would be home soon and then we'd leave to get Lexi's stuff.

I went downstairs to tell my mom Lexi would be staying here. Not that she cared. "Hey mom is it okay if my friend stays here for a while?" She didn't even look up from her phone. "Yeah sure..." I nodded not expecting much more and waited for Lexi and Jace in my room listening to music.

   When they got home we left immediately. Jace looked determined. Lexi looked scared and I was just hoping no one would be home. When we got there Jace knocked on the door. "Who is it?" Someone yelled from the other side. Jace was about to yell back but Lexi covered his mouth and did it for him. "It's me" Lexi yelled back. He unlocked the door, then opened it. "Where have you been get in side!" He yelled at her. "No. I'm not staying here." She said confidence in her voice. "What the hell are you talking about? Don't be stupid get inside now!" He demanded. Jace looked pissed but looked like he was trying to control it. "Look she's here to get her stuff and then leave. We'll all leave and I won't pound your face in for hitting my sister the last time. So back the fuck off already" Jace was fuming. Then Lexi pushed passed him and went to her room I went to help. Her dad tried to follow but Jace grabbed him. Then he through a punch. Jace dodged it. I was upstairs helping Lexi in a hurry. Then we ran downstairs. Jace had her dad pinned up against the wall his back to us. We then ran to the car, and drove home.

~Next Day~

   Justin was coming home today and I haven't talked to him in a week because he was busy. I was proud of him but glad he was coming home. His band has been blowing up on social media these past few days! I was so happy to go see him! I got ready. (A/N outfitt on the side) Then I ran downstairs.

   "Jace can I borrow your car?" I said in a rush to see him. "What for?" He asked looking amused since I never wake uo early on Sundays and never wore shorts, I was always a pants person. "Jace please!" I groaned. "Okay okay" he was about to hand me the keys but then stopped. "Where are you going exactly?" I sighed "To see Justin" Then he groaned. "Why him?!" I laughed but then snatched them out of his grasp. "HEY" he yelled like a child. "Bye tell Lexi I'll be back later" I yelled back. I could hear him laughing as I closed the front door.

   I walked up to Justin's door. I was nervous. What if he was mad at me. Or worse found someone better while he was gone! Prettier? Smarter? Less awkward? Aw man why was I so ugly?! I knocked on the door anyway. He answered the door. "Hey I missed you" he said loudly then lifted me in a hug. I laughed. "I missed you too" then he leaned down and kissed me sweetly. I took a step back something was different, that kiss was cold. I looked closely. Hmmm. HE HAD A LIP RING! "WHEN DID YOU GET THAT?" I laughed out shocked. Then I noticed something peaking from his shirts. OH MY GOD he got a TATTOO. Then I grabbed his arm. I looked him in the eyes shocked. While he smirked at me. "You like them?" I nodded shocked. "You look hot!" Oh god I said that out loud. I immediately turned red. He laughed. "It's okay I was going for that" he smirked again. Then I smacked his arm. "Stop smirking" he did it again. "Hey you don't look to bad either babe" he said looking me up and down. I don't remember him being this out going. It was different. I laughed. "Thanks" I said awkwardly. Then I asked him if he wanted to hang out today but he said he had to go to a meet up with a possible new manager. So I left a little later. I was sad we couldn't hang out. But he said he'd make it up so I drove back home to watch Netflix and eat ice cream with Lexi.
