Chapter 40

Before

Alex's POV.

I was driving over to pick up Grace when my phone rang. "Hello" I answered it casually. "Alex buddy long time no see!" It was my best friend Nick. I haven't talked to him in weeks.

"Yeah man it's been awhile." I said casually pulling up to Grace's school. "So how's life? Are you still with that one girl.." He asked.

"Life is still shitty and yes I am." I said. "Well that's great man lets hang out soon! We used to party and get drunk I need my buddy back."

"Yeah yeah will do." I said. "Bye Nick" I said. "Bye man." Well that wasn't awkward at all. Nick was like a brother to me but he was still a recklace guy. I didn't want to be that guy anymore. Grace meant to much to me.

I'm anxious about later. I have to take her to that horrid place, David would be there so would his guys which didn't help with my nerves. As I waited for Grace I decided to call Nick back.

Knowing he was always up for a challenge, I knew he wouldn't refuse.

"Hey man miss me already..." I could practically see him smirking. "Actually I need a favor..."

Grace's POV.

I walk out of school only to see Alex already waiting for me in his car.

I was nervous. He told me he had to handle some stuff with David. Apparently he was the creep. Of course I was nervous but I also know Alex won't let anything happen to me.

I trust him.

"Hey babe." Alex said casually . "Hi" I was fidgeting in my seat and fumbling with my hands.

Alex put his hand on my knee. "Calm down...you are gonna be fine. I won't let anything happen to you." I nodded still doubtful of what was to happen.

"Do you trust me?" He asked looking into my hazel eyes. I nodded. "Say it" he said looking at me with hope.

"I trust you." I said quietly. He smiled. "Good"

We were driving and Alex even played One Direction softly to calm me down. But it wasn't working.

"Where are we going?" I finally asked. He smirked. "To pick up a friend..."

"Why are we listening to this shit!" Nick, Alex's best friend said. I gasped.

Alex chuckled. "You shouldn't have said that buddy..." I turned and glared at Nick. "Don't you dare say that about my babies!"

"Woah chill babe it was just a joke!" He replied with a smirk. "Don't." I heard Alex say.

"You're just jealous of them." I said and turned in my seat facing forward. "And why would I be?" He said with that stupid smirk still on his face. "Because they're hot and you're not!" I said.

"Well you're a-" he was cut off by Alex. "Finish that sentence and I will throw you out of the car...while it's still moving..." He said casually and put his hand over my seat while the other was on the wheel.

"But she-" I giggled and Alex smirked at Nick. He sighed. "Fine fine...I'm sorry I made fun of One Direction." He mumbled. I smiled. "Thank you..."

"Well are you gonna knock or should I" Alex said to Nick who was frozen in place. We were in the front of this beautiful mansion. And my stomach was doing flips and turns. Not in a good way.

"I don't know maybe-" Alex pushed passed him and rang the doorbell.

The door opened and Alex stepped in first. I was in the middle while Nick was behind me.
