The Story of Grace

Chapter 42

Grace's POV.

"Grace are you okay?" Nick quietly asked me. "No I'm not..."

How could he ask me that. "Hey back off!" I hear Nick say suddenly and I realize one of the guys was trying to pull me from his grip.

"Give her to me and we won't have any trouble..." The guy said. Nick glared at him. The guy reached over and pulled me to his side and Nick stood up and pulled me back. "Look man if you touch the girl you're basically sentencing yourself a death wish..." Nick said.

I was shaking. The guy laughed and smirked down at me. I glared at him. "C'mon babe don't be that way" he cooed into my ear. I shivered and stepped on his toe.

"You shouldn't have done that..." Nick threw a punch at the pervert and he stumbled a bit. Then another man grabbed me from behind and held me against the wall. "Looks like it's just you and me..."

I spit in his face. "In you're dreams..." He slapped me. "Bitch" he seethed. I was squirming in his grasp. "Let me go." He suddenly did.

I dashed to the door and I could hear them chasing me. "Run Grace!" I heard Nick yell out. I did and then I suddenly heard the door unlock and swing open. I smiled and then was about to make my escape when I bumped into someone and fell hard on my ass.

"Really!" I said. I look up to see Alex and a look of relief on his face. He helps me up and smirks. "This brings back memories..." He refers to the first time we met in front of the bar.

He looks behind me to see the men standing around. He glares at them all. "Get her!" One of them yells. Alex stands in front of me and then laughs. "You shouldn't have said that..." He growls.

Nick appears and then a full on war is going on. I kick and punch anyone who touches me and then hide behind a couch.

Alex and Nick are way out numbered. I panic and look for something anything to help. I spot a metal pole on the floor and run to pick it up. Alex is being pinned down and I panic even more. My heart pounding.

"Alex catch!" I yell. He looks at me and catches the pole with one hand and whacks it over the guys head. He falls to the floor now unconscious. Then he attacks the rest. 9 more to go.

All of the men are finally down and Alex runs over too me. Nick still standing around making sure they all stay down.

"Did they touch you?" Alex asks. "No no I'm fine...Nick he helped a lot..." I said grateful he was here.

Nick walks over and sends me  small smile. "Thanks man..." Alex says. "Hey you'd do the same for me.." He shrugs.

"Let's get out of here!" Alex tells us quietly looking around. He intertwines our fingers and pulls me along while Nick follows.

The door is open and we run out. Alex guiding us as we quietly move down the long hallways.

We finally see an open door and run into it. There are 3 men there. Whoop no surprise there. Where are my females at!

"Hey what are you kids doing out!" One yells. "Um we were looking for a bathroom...?" Nick says. I try to hold in my laughter.

"Get them." One says to the other two.

"Run" Alex whispers. We speed down the hallways and finally see an exit. We head out and we see it's dark out.

How long have we been gone?

"Guys go hide in the woods I'll be there soon..." Alex says. "No I'm not leaving you..." I say as I look him desperately hoping he doesn't leave me.

I protest but Alex shakes his head. "You don't have a choice. Nick." He looks at Nick for help and he grabs my arm. "Grace let's go he'll be fine..."

Tears pool in my eyes. "No no no Alex please...you'll get hurt or or-" he cuts me off when his lips crash with mine.

He pulls away and wipes my tears. "Please go...I love you." He says and I could already hear men after us.

"Okay..." I whisper. And Nick tugs me along. I pull Alex back one more time. "I love you too..." He smiles and wipes some of my tears.

Then he runs back.

"Let's go." Me and Nick take off running and hide behind a bush. I desperately look for Alex and then finally see him fighting with Mansel.

Then there are gun shots heard and screaming and Nick shoots up and pulls me with him. "We have to go..."

"What no!? Alex still isn't back I'm not leaving with out him!" I sit back down and pray he's not hurt. Nick bends down and looks me in the eyes.

"Grace let's go. Alex would kill me if I ever let something happen too you...I promise you we'll get him back...we're just gonna need help..." He says. Tears stream down my face.

Fuck I was sick of crying. I nod my head. He smiles and then grabs my hand and he run into the woods and I look back hoping to see Alex running to catch up with us.

But when I turn to look no one there's.
