Chapter 25

Alex's POV.

I'm sitting in a hospital room. I can't fucking believe this happened.

Once I heard Grace's voicemail I knew something was wrong. I've been ignoring her for a month. Just because I knew I wasn't good for her.

She tried to kill herself. I don't know what to think. Maybe if I wouldn't have left her alone this wouldn't have happened.

Even if I was just there as a friend. If I would've just ignored the sparks she gave me when I touched her. Or how when she smiled it would light up the room.

I know I know...nothing you've never heard before. But I can't help it.

Lexi bursts through the door. "Holy shit oh my god! Please tell me she's going to be okay? What happened? Oh my god!" I stand up and grab her shoukders.

She's hysterical. She starts sobbing. "Hey shes gonna be okay.." I soothe her.

20 minutes later Lexi falls asleep on the seat next to Grace's bed where she lays still unconscious.

I walk out and head outside. I immediately pull out a smoke.

My phone starts ringing. I sigh but answer it anyway.

"Yeah" I say into the phone. "Alex look I know I said you had a while untill you could pay me the money but I need it now time to pay up!" Fuck.

"Uh nows not the best time Derek" I heard him grunt in the other side. "Look someones after me and I gotta get out of here now so you either give me the money in 2 weeks or I will fucking kill you!" He yelled into the phone.

"Alright alright" I tried not to sound so panicked. "Good" he hung up. I yelled. "Fuck!" I threw my phone on the ground. I tossed my smoke into the ground then went back inside.

What was I supposed to do now! How was I supposed to come up with 10,000 dollars with in 2 weeks for a fucking drug dealer I used to work for. I was screwd.

I only did it for my mother.

I ran back to Grace's room and was only gonna say goodbye but when I seem her awake I just ran and hugged her.

"Don't you fucking do that ever again!" I said looking in her eyes. She smiled slightly. "Hi Alex..." I smiled. "Hey look I gotta go but-" she grabbed my arm.

"Please don't leave...." I sighed. "Alright I won't..." She smiled. "Good because so far you've been a terrible best friend..." I chuckled.

Even when she's in the hospital and almost died and can joke around.

Grace's POV.

Lexi and Cecilia left the room. Leaving me and Alex alone.

"I know I know I'm a terrible best friend!" Alex said laughing a bit. "True but I forgive you because that's what friends do!"

He laughed a bit. "Remember when we first met...and I took you out to eat because you said you knew nothing about me...." I nodded.

"Then on the ride back to my place you called me your 'best friend'...." I laughed at the memorie. "Yeah I do...I'm really sorry you met me I know I'm a pain...but-" he stopped me.

"Don't say that..." He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. I let him continue. "You give me this feeling when we touch and I know this sounds weird but its like something I've never felt and it scares me....you make me smile just by laughing or by telling a lame joke..." He took in a deep breath.

I smiled and touched his arm, letting him know to continue.

"And I haven't smiled or even felt happiness in a long time and I'm afraid to loose that again...so please just you have to just leave me be..."

What was he talking about. "No because you make me feel those things too....its not just you. And I love being around you, I don't know why but you just invade my thoughts and when I do think about you I can't help but smile because I actually really like you.."

He smiled. Then he hugged me again. He pulled away and looked me in the eyes again.

"Seriously don't do anything stupid again okay I promise not to leave if you never do that shit again...." I smiled.

"I promise"
