The Story of Grace

Chapter 3

Grace POV.

~SKIP TO THURSDAY~

I woke up earlier today so I wouldn't be late. I was trying to be really quiet so my Jace wouldn't hear me. He's been really protective since Monday after school.

I was creeping down the stairs heading towards the front door.

"Need a ride?" Jace said with a smirk on his face.

"Uh no I'm fine...I can walk"

"Well thats sucks it wasn't really an option" he said.

"Fine whatever" I sighed

~at school~

I was walking...well more like speed walking to my first class, when I bumped into someone. I looked up to see a guy with brown hair and dark brown eyes.

"I'm sorry..." I said trying not to make eye contact.

"No problem" he smiled at me.

I smiled back and kept walking to my class. Why was I so awkward.

~lunch~

I sat down at an empty table in the back. I don't see Alexis untill sixth period. And she is really my only friend. So I just sat there alone, on my phone skipping lunch.

Suddenly someone sat beside me. I looked up to see the guy I ran into in the hallway.

"Hey is this seat taken?"

"Uh n-no its not"

"Okay cool" he sat down across from me.

He was cute, which made my awkwardness much worse than it already is.

"I'm Justin by the way" he said and stuck out his hand.

"I'm Grace" I said taking his hand.

We ended up talking about our classes and laughing at his terribly chessey jokes. I liked him he seemed nice. Untill we were rudely interrupted.

"Hey little sis" Jace said cheerfully.

"Uh hey..." I said not really knowing what was going on.

"So who's this?"

"I'm Justin" Justin stated very confidently sticking out his hand toward my brother.I could feel my cheeks heating up, what did Jace want.

"Oh well thats nice anyway I just came by to tell you that you should just stay away from my little sister....just a reminder" Jace said cheerfully but you could tell it was sarcasm. I could literally feel my face on fire.

"Jace it's fine were just friends, please go away" I stated annoyed by his presence.

"Okay okay just thought he should know...bye sis" he said walking back over to his friends.

"I'm sorry he can be a little over protective" I said shyly.

"No its fine...I mean I could see why you are gorgeous" he said smiling at me. I blushed like crazy.

"Thanks" I said awkwardly

"No problem" he said still looking at me while I avoided eye contact. And with that the bell rang. He got up and gave me a hug then said he'd see me around. I stood there like an idiot after he left. This has to be a joke.

~sixth period~

I got to class and seen Lexi sitting in her seat.

"Hey Grace" she said smiling at me.

"Hey Lexi" I said smiling back.

"So what are we doing tomorrow?" I asked curiously since she hasn't told me yet.

"Oh right well I work at this restaurant and this band is gonna be playing there...did you wanan go?"

"Yeah sounds fun" I said smiling

For the rest of the class Lexi told me about her ex boyfriends and awesome concerts she's been to before. That went on untill the bell rang and me and Lexi walked out and then parted ways.

I didn't know where Jace was and he usually called or texted me since my parents really didn't give a shit. I was worried where the hell was he? I was not even at home yet and I was already upset.

My mom worked late today, she's been taking more hours lately. I don't really know why I mean my dad works enough for the both of them. But I was just glad there wasn't yelling when I got home.
But i still had to worry about Jace!
