Rosie waited at y/n's apartment door for what felt like hours after she knocked. She felt like she was going to lose it if y/n wasn't going to open the door soon. The blonde kept her eyes away from the peephole because she figured that when y/n checked to see who it was, she probably didn't want to like make eye contact with her through a peephole at the moment.
And after the eternity Rosie had to wait, the sound of y/n's apartment door unlocking in front of her was heard and she immediately felt her heart start to race. The door then opened and Rosie felt like she just got hit with a ton of bricks, followed by getting run over by a semi truck seeing the pure sadness displayed on y/n's face.
Her eyes weren't bright as they normally were and just the way she stood, Rosie could tell she was sad as her shoulders were slightly slumped forward. And there was no smile or grin on her face, there was just a straight face in terms of her lips. Rosie was so used to seeing a smile and her bright and wild eyes that this was a sight she truly never wanted to see ever again.
All the guilt toppled down on her and she quickly rushed forward, getting into y/n's apartment and dropping her purse on the floor, wrapping her arms around y/n's neck as she profusely apologized. It was basically word vomit as she was blabbering,
"Y/n, I'm so sorry for not telling you about this before it hit the news, I didn't know they saw us and I was going to tell you this morning–" Rosie started, feeling tears form in her eyes and fall down her cheeks as she felt like she couldn't breathe because she wanted to explain everything to y/n as fast as she could so she would be forgiven as quickly as possible.
"Breathe, Rosie, breathe." Y/n said as she reached behind the blonde to close her apartment door. She then moved her hands to gently rub small circles on Rosie's back as she really did need her to calm down so she could explain everything.
Y/n already cried for a good two hours, so she didn't feel like crying anymore. She had changed out of her suit she got on this morning into sweats and a t-shirt because being sad in a full suit felt weird. The project manager also hadn't eaten anything yet, but then again it's only a little before 10am.
Rosie just tightened her grip and brought herself impossibly closer to the project manager, missing her scent and the way her arms felt around her body. And god did Rosie miss hearing the woman call her by her nickname. It hadn't even been that long, only since Saturday night, but it felt wonderful.
"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry." She whispered as she held onto y/n, slowly trying to get her breathing under control. Y/n held her as well and walked backwards to where her couch was in her living room, feeling like sitting down would be better than standing up at the moment.
Rosie followed along with her face buried into the side of y/n's neck. Y/n arrived at the couch and made sure to ease Rosie down on the couch with her, sitting down and Rosie didn't miss a beat, going to sit on y/n's lap.
"I know you did your hair, but I'm going to touch it." Y/n whispered softly as she moved her left hand up on Rosie's back to gently play with a few strands of the blonde's hair.
Rosie had told her Saturday on their date that she told y/n not to touch her hair at the retirement party because she had it done. Y/n said that she thought she just didn't like her hair being touched in general. That got a laugh out of Rosie because she actually loves it when people play with her hair, though not when it's done after an hour of work in the bathroom.
Hearing y/n say that made a sob fall from Rosie's lips because she realized that she really doesn't deserve y/n. She literally went with Jaehyun and it was all over the news and here was y/n, holding her close and comforting her how Rosie likes to be comforted. Y/n remembers the small and little details she randomly sprinkles in during their talks and it's one of the best feelings in the world when the person remembers them.
