"Happy Christmas!" I yelled, throwing paper snowflakes in the air. I was wearing Santa hat PJs and my hair was all over my face. "What? Kas?" said Pansy, sleepy. "Today! It's Christmas. It's the Yule Ball!" I said, rolling my eyes. "Just kidding! Happy Christmas, Kas!" She said, She got out of bed and headed to the common room. "Wait up!" I yelled catching up with her. "NO! Mum made more brunt sugar cookies! Those are the worst!" Pansy sheriked. "Not as bad as my parents' letters." I said sadly looking down at a pile of letters. "I keep forgetting to ask but, why do they send you so many letters?" asked Pansy, opening more presents. I stood still, looking at the floor. I knew why they kept sending me letters. They wanted to know what house I am in. But, today I will tell them. Or I will get owls by the truck load. "I haven't told them I got put in Slytherin." I said. "Oh. Hey, look! My father got me an OWL! OMG! I always wanted one! I'll name it...North! The perfect name. And, you got me a pair of snowflake earrings, thanks! And Draco, oh his present is inviting me to the Yule Ball." Pansy said. Every Christmas at Hogwarts she went through her presents fast. "Hey, can I borrow North?" I asked. "Yeah, I don't mind." She said, handing me her owl. I tied my letter on it's leg and opened the window. I throw it, letting it spread out it's wings to fly. I headed back towards the presents. "Hm? Kas, Granger sent you a gift! So did Potter and Weasly." Pansy said, pushing aside two gifts. I looked at them. I opened the biggest gift first. It was a box full of candies from Honeydukes, a candy shop in Hogsmeade. Then I opened the next. I was long. I opened it carefully. It had bottles of Memory Potion. I let out a laugh. "Candy? From Potter? It could be poisoned!" yelled Pansy. I rolled my eyes. "It's not poisoned." I said. "Why are you talking about Potter?" said Draco. His hair was all bushy, he looked tired. "We weren't," said Pansy quickly. "Oh, well, Happy Christmas." He said sitting down on the couch. "Happy Christmas!" said me and Pansy. "Hey, Kas? Will you walk with me?" Draco asked. I thought. "Of course." I replied. We walked along the stairs and stopped in front of the Boy's Bedrooms. The hallway was very tight. I felt too close to Draco. "So," I said. I really wanted to leave. "Tonight, do you want to have a few dances with me?" He asked. I went to answer. "Draco, I," I tried to say, but I tripped. Not backward, but on to Draco. He tried to catch me but it didn't work. The way I fell made us kiss. But, instead of pulling away from that awkward kiss, I kept doing it. Draco, just like me, didn't stop either. He grabbed hold of my waist, so I was now hugging and kissing Draco. The door to the Boy's bedroom door's lock began to move. So we stopped and waited for a 2nd year to pass through. "Is that a yes?" Draco asked, after the 2nd year left. We both let out a laugh. I looked into his eyes. For the first time, I saw kind blue eyes. I normally just see dark cold blue eyes. I also saw his smile. Yet again, I was used to a sly grin. "Yes, I will have a few dances with you." I replied. We both turned down the staircase, holding hands. But, we stopped once we saw Pansy.

"Hey! Kas, Draco invited us to a snowball fight! Want to go?" Pansy asked. I looked at her. She was wearing winter gear covered head to toe in ice and snow. "Yup. What happened to you?" I asked. She turned pink. She was either embarrassed or way too hot. "I was uh...doing nothing." She said, Now I know she was embarrassed. "Whatever. You can go, I need to get my jacket on." I told her. She smiled and ran off. I thought hard for moments before going out. Would that kiss affect my friendship with Draco? How would Pansy feel? How would Hermione feel? I felt like I should have never kissed him. But, it wasn't all my fault. Draco did kiss me back. "Enough about that, I need to get ready." I said to myself. Once I finished getting ready, I headed out of the Slytherin common room and into the halls. "Kas!" yelled a girl. "Happy Christmas!" called a boy. I turned around, my blonde hair whipping in my face. Then, I saw Harry and Hermione. "Hey guys! Happy Christmas!" I called back. Harry saw my winter outfit. "Where are you going?" he asked. "Oh! My friends and I are having a snowball fight." I said. Hopefully they didn't want to join. "Could we come?" asked Harry. Darn! I thought. "Well, I have to get ready for the Yule Ball. Come on, Harry!" said Hermione. "Get ready for the Yule Ball?! Hermione! It's in four hours!" yelled Harry. "Then we better hurry! Bye, Kas." Hermione said and ran off to the Gryiffndor common room, taking Harry with her. After they left I headed down to meet Draco and Pansy. I walked along the way until I got to the courtyard. Once I saw Draco and Pansy, I ran towards them. "Kas! We were just about to start!" called Draco. "3...2..1! GO!" shouted Pansy. I looked at the ground. I rolled up some snow and THUD! Pansy just threw a huge snowball at my back. When I turned around I threw one back at her. "Kas Diggory! I will get you back for-" SMACK! Draco threw a huge ball of snow at Pansy's face. "Haha!" Yelled Draco. I got two small ones and chucked them at Draco. "AAAAhhhh! Not funny!" He called. Yet again, I saw his kind blue eyes. He started to run. At first I had no idea what he was doing, then once he picked me up and threw me on his shoulder, I realized he was getting me. "Draco Malfoy! Put me down!" I laughed. "Okay!" he laughed. He threw me on a pile of snow. "That's not what I meant!" I said. THUD! THUD! Pansy just threw snowballs at me and Draco. Pansy stuck out her tongue. "I'll get her," Draco said and ran after Pansy. Soon, we got tired of this, and Pansy left to get ready for the Yule Ball. "So, want to go on a sledge ride?" Draco asked. "Yes!" I called. We went up a huge hill. Draco sat on a sledge and I sat behind him. I put my hands around his waist. "Ready?" He asked. "Sure." I said. I started to feel scared. We were on a huge hill. And, I mean huge hill. "Let's GO!" Yelled Draco pushing the sledge. It went down really fast. I held Draco tight. I hide my face behind Draco's back. "Draco, slow down!" I yelled. He turned around and saw my scared face. "Don't worry, Kas. I'll slow down." He replied. He wasn't lying. He slowed down and stopped. Draco stood up and offered to help me up. He held out a hand. I took it. Once I stood up, I picked out all the pieces of snow out of my hair. We walked towards Hogwarts, holding hands. Once we got close to Hogwarts, Draco cleared his throat. "We better go get ready for the Yule Ball." He said. I nodded. "Yeah, bye." I said. He bent over to kiss my cheek.

5 minutes until the Yule Ball. I was in the girl's bathroom curling my hair. I was in my purple dress with thye black shawl. In there with me was Cho Chang, Cedric's date. "So, your Cedric's cousin?" She asked. "Yes." I said, still curling my hair. She looked down at my dress. "I love it. Your dress. I love it." She said with a smile. I blushed. No one ever liked my clothing. "Thanks." I answered. Cho hurried out of the room. I was there for ten minutes. I missed the beginning. Soon I hurried off into the Ball to find everyone dancing. I just stood in a corner because I didn't have a date. Then I saw Pansy run out of the Ball room. I ran to Draco. "Had to insult her to dance with you." He said with a smirk on his face. I hugged him anyway. The rest of the time we just danced. But, I heard another girl run out of the Ball room. It was Hermione. I had to help her. "Draco, I have to go," I said, letting go of him. "Why?" He asked. "I'll tell you later." I lied. I ran out to see Hermione curled up in a ball at the end of the stairs. "Hermione! What happened?" I asked. "Ron. He spoils everything for me." She said, as more tears rolled down her cheek. I hugged her. "I guess I understand." I told her. She looked so sad, but pretty. She was wearing a blue dress with her hair pulled up in a Bunn. "Do you want to go back to the Ball?" I asked. "No, you can." She said, "You sure?" I asked. She nodded. I did what Hermione told me to do. But, right before entering the Ball, I passed a group of Ravenclaws.
