Welcome May

Dull and gray months have passed as May approached.

Testes would be over soon and that brought cheer into the air. My relationship with Draco was growing stronger. In a good way. Before school started we would have picnics down by the great lake and after school we would watch the sunsets together. Pansy kept her distance from me. I have no idea why. I mean, Draco didn't tell her about our relationship, right? What if he did? He wouldn't. Anyway, school was almost over and everyone was planning what they would do over the summer. Normally I go to Pansy's cottage but tell my parents I'm staying at Hogwarts. But, like I said, she is keeping her distance from me. Draco didn't say anything about summer yet. Which is fine. I'm just so happy that today is the Welcoming May Ceremony. It always takes place on May 20th. It is a tradition that my family loves to celebrate. Since I'm at Hogwarts and my family is in London, I celebrate with Cedric. I really have no idea why we do this but, it is like the Muggle Holiday called 'Spring Cleaning'. We basically use our wands to take bad memories out of our heads and celebrate the term to make new ones in the spring. We also have a small feast and play games. I always wonder why we celebrate it half way through the month! But, we do it anyway!

I met Cedric half way through the day near the Whomping Willow. Once we caught each other's eye we ran to hug each other. Not because we missed each other, though we did. But, because this year will have a Welcoming May ceremony because of my parents death. Yes, it was true. They were killed by Death eaters. Last night. Uncle Amos, Cedric's dad, sent a letter last night as well. I, well, wish I wouldn't have been so selfish, and told them everything. But, there-there, gone. Forever. I never-since I got to Hogwarts 5 years ago- saw them. Cedric feels the same way. He only saw them twice. "Where are you going to live?" asked Cedric, tears in his eyes. I thought. I didn't know. Where was I going to live? I couldn't live with Draco. I mean, I couldn't imagine living with Luicus Malfoy! He's just pure evil!"
