PERCY POV
She betrayed me. She left me. I gave everything to her, and she turned to the one who offered her everything. So I left. Annabeth, I hope you're happy because clearly, I wasn't enough.
ARTEMIS POV
I watched it unfold. It was wrong. He arrived on Olympus an hour later, asking for death. We refused. He left. Thalia was grief-stricken when she found out.
I couldn't blame her. The only man that was even a bit respectful towards women, was cast aside by one. It was even sadder when his mom died of a wreck, along with her husband and daughter.
I just hope he's alright.
10 YEARS LATER
As I hunted the deer, I remained in the shadows, with the prey non the wiser. I notched an arrow and released. It found its mark in the creature's lungs. As I began to carry it, I prayed that it had a painless end. I remembered his words and was immediately saddened. Can gods pray? I wish he would come back.
I wish I knew if he was even alive. The boy, no, the man was the only respectable male on the planet.
Lost in thought, I failed to notice the monster that crept up on me. It tackled me and was about to kill me when a loud bang rang out into the forest. The monster fell limp, blood gushing from the wound in its head. I looked up at where the sound originated.
The sound had come from a gun, which was held by a man in a blue cloak. His hood was pulled over his eyes, but I could make out the green irises. From under the hood was a beard, not too shaggy, but also not too tame. I was furious. I was saved by a male of all things.
"Who are you," I asked angrily. He stayed silent. "It would be in your best interest to respond to an Olympian goddess." He smirked. The AUDACITY! He pulled his hood to reveal a 28-year-old man, with raven black hair, a decently controlled beard, chiseled features, and striking sea-green eyes.
I gasped.
"Per--" I tried, but couldn't find the words in my shock. "Yes, Lady Artemis," he said, still smiling. "It's me."
So, what do you all think of the first chapter? Sorry if it feels a bit rushed because it kind of was. I'll be posting soon, hopefully.
