ARTEMIS POV

As I approached him, I did the only thing I could think of.  I slapped him.

He dodged with lightning speed, something that caught me off guard, but I didn't show it.  "We need to let the council know of this," I said.  He flinched slightly but agreed nonetheless.

I flashed to the throne room, where every God and Goddess was surprised by the sight before them.

"Daughter,"  Zeus said.  "How did you find him?"

I explained the monster attack and the gunshot, to which everyone was taken aback.  "Perseus,"  Boomed Athena.  "Are there any other nontraditional weapons on your person we should know of?"

He raised his hand and pulled his wrist back as a blade launch itself out of his forearm.  Ares was speechless.  Hell, even I was taken aback.

"Son, why don't you go clean up," suggested Poseidon.  "Aphrodite may want to help choose a more appropriate outfit."  Aphrodite, meanwhile, was staring seductively at Perseus the whole time.  She said, "Oh, this will be fun."  I glared at her and chuckled when she looked pouty.

"Now that that's covered,"  Zeus stated.  "What should we do?  We can't send him back to Camp Half-Blood."  For some reason, I announced, "What if he came with me, to protect the hunters?"  Everyone was amazed that I even suggested that, but nodded in agreement.

PERCY POV

Of course, I go to save one person, and the next thing I know, Aphrodite is playing dressmaker.  "The blue does not fit your current look.  Maybe a red, or a white, or..." she trailed off.  Then, suddenly, she gasped.  "PERFECT!"  And for once, I agreed with her.  It was a sleek black and red cloak (AN: think of Altair, but black instead of white, with red outlines, and the leather is black with red detailing.) with some sheathes for weapons.

I looked in wonder, then blurted, "Aphrodite, this is probably the single smartest you've ever thought of."  She, of course, was offended, saying she had many brilliant ideas.  I rolled my eyes and put the outfit on.  It fit perfectly.  I would need some weapons, though.

The outfit had multiple sheaths, which I had a feeling would probably be filled with one trip to Hepheastus's forge if he'd be willing.  As I left the palace, I felt a feeling I was in for a world of strangeness when I entered the throne room to the council nodding in agreement.

I met the silver eyes of Artemis, who had a look as if to say sorry.  "Perseus Jackson,"  Zeus boomed.  "You shall be assigned as the new Guardian of the Hunt."  This promptly made me want to faint.  So that's what the look was for.

"I accept, Lord Zeus,"  I stated.  I was then given the same immortality blessing as the hunters;  can never die unless slain in battle.  Artemis then flashed herself and me to the hunters' camp.  I was hidden in the treeline while she was in her tent, which she promptly exited.

"Hunters,"  she announced.  "We have been given a Guardian by Zeus."  They all had questions, but the only one she gave a response to was "When is she arriving?"

"He,"  corrected Artemis.  That statement was met with immediate outrage.  This is gonna be great.
